His was my first political campaign; I worked with my mom when I was 6 years old, handing out campaign literature.
11/22/63 is a day I’ll never forget.
I always wonder how our world would be different had he lived. Would civil rights have advanced as they did under LBJ?

Our teacher turned on the tv in our classroom and we watched until school was dismissed early. I remember my parents and everyone else being off work and out of school for several days until after his funeral.

2/ I’ve heard that news media is ignoring areas in the south ravaged by Helene so I’m here to tell you that Asheville still doesn’t have potable (safe for drinking) water in its water system. The town of Marshall is still mostly without power. Many communities are still digging out from the mud.
