Typical that the day I attempt to do some writing during my baby’s down time is the day she has two half hour naps all day then punishes me for even thinking about writing my methods chapter with a night time wake window #momademia 👶

Was looking to make space on my book shelf and just realised I have a full set of the original cover paperbacks of the #ThroneOfGlass #SarahJMaas series which seem to be collectors items now. Definitely shouldn’t have thrown away the box and poster 😭

Horribly windy but v happy to see signs of spring 🌝

Back in the good old days on Twitter I used to review books I had read. Not that I find much time to read these days, but here’s a new & updated #bookreview thread! I’ll probably throw in some old favourites too 📚 💫

I have a peanut allergy and my 7 month old has severe eczema making her high risk. Thankful for the #LEAPstudy and although it was absolutely terrifying, we have given her a first exposure to peanut butter this morning. Fingers crossed a regular dose will keep her allergy free! #allergy #peanut 🥜

Realising there is a lot of cross over between what babies like and what cats like

Not to be dramatic but I really don’t know how people get anything done with a baby and I have no idea how I’m gonna cope going back to my PhD full time later in the year 😶😭

In other news I am currently navigating a teething 7 month old who doesn’t sleep independently, weaning, keeping wardrobes organised & selling old clothes on vinted, and thinking about restarting and finally finishing my literature review manuscript 🫠

Finally managed to catch up with finale of #TheTraitors last night and honestly it is UNDENIABLY the best reality/game show format. I am utterly obsessed

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers. This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder. Auschwitz took time.

Musk telling a German far right policy that there’s ‘too much focus’ on past guilty in Germany, less than a week after making a straight arm salute at Trump’s inauguration. What’s the old maxim about if something walks like a duck and quacks like a duck? www.lemonde.fr/en/internati...

Seen a spoiler for #TheTraitors and I’m absolutely RAGING cos I still have all this weeks episodes to watch 😤😤😤

my cat is surprisingly desperate to get into the garden for a creature with no natural defences against 90mph gusts

I had no idea that government phone alert was happening hahaha that was very jarring. Why is it so loud 😭😭😭

As someone who had a difficult labour and emergency c section last year, I’m not surprised by shortcomings in #EdinburghMaternityCare. I was in labour for 3 days, turned away twice all the while my kidneys were shutting down and no one thought to do any further checks on me aside from dilation 🧐

In all seriousness: the last 2 weeks of TikTok posturing and Zuck grovelling, combined with the X insanity of the last year, should show you that an app with a feed that you don’t control serves *other people’s interests* - not yours.

FINALLY finding the time to catch up with #TheTraitors and honestly how do the seasons keep getting better?? Absolutely obsessed

A lovely other mum out with her baby came to chat to me in the shop today and it made me realise I wish I was one of those kind and chatty people that can just approach and befriend others, it’s such a lovely trait

A new era of lies? Mark Zuckerberg has just ushered in an extinction-level event for truth on social media The Meta boss’s decision to get rid of the platform’s 40,000 moderators has set the stage for a fact-free four years online, warns @stokel.bsky.social

Our cats brought in and lost ANOTHER mouse in the living room. People suggest getting a cat if you have a mouse problem. All I will say is I didn’t have any mouse problems until these cats arrived 👺

Evil kitty 👹

I don’t really have any interesting things to post about as all I do all day and night is look after my baby (which I ofc love) but I am one of those mums who hasn’t had more than 2 hours away from their child since their birth 6 months ago (it was for a dentist appointment)

This year I really want to start buying better quality & more second hand clothes!! No more polyester! Pls feel free to suggest sources!

It absolutely baffles me that microplastics aren’t taken more seriously. I dread to think that one day we will reach an unrecoverable human health tipping point

Sky has everything APART from the twitch app which I find v annoying

It’s that time of year again !!

Instagram is the only platform I post pictures to now but I absolutely HATE scrolling through my feed - a million years to get through stuff my actual followers post because it’s so filled with sponsored posts and ads? It becomes such a waste of time 🫠

Best advice for when your cat brings a mouse in the house and it gets lost in the living room? 😫

Just watched the @jamesblunt.com documentary on Netflix, the 2000’s and 2010’s really were a horrific time to be in the UK media
