There’s such an increase in distrust of tech companies, we now have to be more explicit about super obvious things that we would never do. Users expect the worst because they’ve been burned. So it goes.

Piracy is a service problem, and so is immigration People don't migrate illegally because they want to break the law—they do it because the 'legal pathways' are too slow, expensive, or unavailable. Better systems and access reduce 'piracy.' Why not apply the same logic to immigration reform? 🤔

If you can. Choose differently. (Not a possibility for everyone) - Use Linux instead of Windows/MacOS. - Stop using Alphabet/Google, Meta, Microsoft etc. platforms as much as you possibly can. - Build on OpenSource platforms. - Learn how to self-host instead of using cloud. Prepare yourself.

It's #DOScember! Here's DOS and Windows 3 running on a... NeXTstation color?! It's also running Mac OS. And NeXTSTEP. All at the same time. And it did that 34 years ago. SoftPC got a version of DOS/Windows from Microsoft that's (partially) compiled for the Motorola 68040. #retrocomputing
