I don’t know who needs to hear this, but rural America could not have elected Trump alone. We only make up 20% of the US population and a hell of a lot of us didn’t vote for Trump… I have spoken to thousands of rural Democrats. Blaming an entire demographic isn’t helpful to the cause.
