I wrote a post about the Klan 100 years ago and how the grip they held on the US seemed impossible to break, but people fought them anyway. And it’s been read by tens of thousands of you (!!!). I guess people want stories of hope right now. dansinker.com/posts/202…

Stop mass deportations with this one simple trick: wapo.st/41apYFB (gift link)

This is a great site, and they provide a road map, especially for someone like me who is introverted and struggles to make phone calls. I’m likely not going to join big protests, although I enthusiastically & gratefully support those who do. But reps REALLY need to hear from us. Show them we care.

I just called my reps with @5calls.org, you should too: 5calls.org

did this one a month ago, just saying www.dailykos.com/stories/2025...

Just wanted to give a shoutout to DuckDuckGo. I removed Chrome from my desktop and now use DuckDuckGo as both my browser and default search engine. They make it super easy to change over. Also nice to know I’m not being tracked when I browse. Bye Google! Next - find a gmail alternative.

Click on the magnifying glass icon in your browser bar, then select "DuckDuckGo" as your default search engine.

For whatever it's worth I just switched my default browser to DuckDuckGo.

Hey here’s episode 2 with @joaquincastrotx.bsky.social - substack.com/@jimacosta/n...

Oops looks like those protestors showed up at the wrong darn rallies.

if I understand American politics correctly, progressivism is something that requires 60 senate votes to work, while national conservatism doesn’t require any votes at all

I sent this article to both of my Senators. Thankfully they are Wyden and Merkley, who are both making more noise than most. But it's past time to do more than make noise.

Hi all, We’re still here at OPM. We have a situation where we MIGHT, and I do mean, MIGHT have four of Elon’s people blocked from the building. Can we get press or a member of Congress down here? We’ve blocked them for two hours and they keep coming back and trying to go in.

For all our American neighbours who may be struggling to find accurate health information - thr Public Health Agency of Canada has a website you are more than welcome to use: www.canada.ca/en/public-he...

"oh ho, but just last year you said running people over with with a big steamroller was wrong!” I exclaim delightedly as my enemy fatally runs me over with a big steamroller. it seems I have won this battle of wits

Cord Jefferson, quitting Instagram, sums many things up: “I don’t need Instagram to be a haven for free speech for the same reason I don’t need a Jamba Juice or a Hooters to be a haven for free speech.”

I don't care what he calls it, I'm still leaving lol

But I'm game, actually.

Honored to virtue-signal myself right off of FB for good, thanks Zuckerberg, you jerk. Have a bad day.

@hokieandrea.bsky.social Gotcha!

If you're new here, remember you have to follow a lot of accounts to generate a feed but also block a lot of trash accounts to keep it clean. Some quick shortcuts here that will allow you to block or mute a lot of awful accounts

again, you can read 100 polling and political journalism pieces exploring voter behavior and not find a SINGLE ONE that mentions MAGA voters have a head full of mashed potatoes thanks to a massive and extremely well funded propaganda network across old and new media

This may be helpful for you new followers. You can block every single person on these lists. Just click on the subscribe button and it will give you the option to block every one on it. Here’s the first: bsky.app/profile/did:...

This article was published on January 20, 2021 and it's worth reading again today, because we keep ending up in this situation.

Our national press failed to meet the challenge of the first Trump administration and I am concerned they are inadequately prepared for the second. Billionaire owners have only gotten richer. And social platforms are now digital arms of an authoritarian government. News outlets have to step up.

"I think this will go very bad, and the near future will likely be darker than anything most living Americans have ever experienced. I hope I’m wrong, more than I’ve ever hoped to be wrong in my life. I really don’t think I am."

And maybe don't post links to Amazon dot com. I'm done with them too. I don't care how fantastic and resistance the book is. Forget it.

Already unfollowed someone I respected for doing just this. Too bad.

I'm screaming into the void but if you skeet (or whatever the it's called) links to New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, etcetera, I'm instantly unfollowing. They got the president they wanted, and now they write terrifying articles about him for us to click for $$$. Harris was too boring for them.
