Alito and Thomas can, with full vigor and vigilance, get fucked.

I live in a purple-island-surrounded-by-red area of Illinois, so I sometimes don't feel the benefits of our generally left state politics...but I'm always glad to see it when it comes my way.

Supposing one thinks that America was ever "great" to begin with...it is nonsensical to equate our current trajectory as "a return to greatness", when the history of (immigrant) scientists' contributions to the U.S. are so profound. We're careening to irrelevance. www.wired.com/story/us-cut...

Literally the last thing we need under this regime is some of the few remaining great journalistic institutions to have anti-labor issues from their management. @propublica.org

It’s awesome that Truth Social is an official diplomatic channel that Putin will definitely take very seriously.

Adding to this: while it is absolutely not ubiquitous, there’s a fair amount of people with some kind of physical discipline. Ethical discipline is far harder, and anecdotally, much more rare. Broader society does nothing to make it easier either.

I do not wish this on this guy because I enjoy his suffering. I wish this on this guy because catastrophic cognitive dissonance might be the only thing with a tiny chance of breaking through the propaganda cage. (Also, he likely enjoys others suffering when it's who Faux News told him to hate.)

It's called the LSCCD* 1. *late stage capitalism coping device

One thing that's fun about being a #kitesurfer is that sometimes, it is a visceral, humbling endeavor that reminds you that you are not as cool as you think you are. You don't get the high flying jumps and tricks without also getting the long walks of shame, line tangles, and ripped kites.

For any of my fellow #kitesurfers & #kiteboarders, if you're familiar with ram-air foil kites, you probably already know about #flysurfer. (I love my Soul's) But also, don't sleep on their LEI's. I've got a 7m Boost, and if the winds are high enough, that might just be my favorite, do-it-all kite.

At this point, I have 2 moods: - *deeply* depressed watching the absolute chaos batshitery happening every day in this country - *especially* excited for my nerd + athletic activities, and go do them as much as I can

BREAKING: The country of Norway just entered a bill to give transgender Americans asylum in the country of Norway… LGBTQ+ STRONG! 🌈✨

For those of a certain age, I don't think any of us knew what they truly meant by "lock-on technology"...until now.

It is the most maddening fucking thing to watch: - the regime using media messaging and figureheads as pure, on-the-nose, information warfare - journalists treating that information warfare credulously, as if it's a valid point of view Like, drives me absolutely batshit. The fourth estate is dead.

While I typically keep my browser tabs under 8 as a rule, I will say that for all of the "discover how many tabs can be open before the universe implodes" people out there: my opinion is it's actually a fundamental user experience design problem of browser bookmark feature discoverability.

markets soar as investors realize that mommy didn't actually disappear, she was just hiding behind her hands

I get physically nauseous listening to Trump's "sleazy used car salesman tells tall tale" word choices and voice inflections. And like, you can tell this is just *him*. It's so fucking specific, and obvious, and I don't know how people hear this and think it represents competence.

Religion talks a big game about prophets, but the cool part about science is that we actually have them. youtu.be/f9A_qFM9IAk?...

Rand Paul is a bag o'dicks. But he is at least a bag o'dicks that understands the very basics of economic trade, and that's quite an outlier for the GOP.

Listen, I can only think of one time that someone demanded my gratefulness for something they were offering, and that something actually turned out to be a good thing. So the moral of the story is: if it ain't Grumgully telling you to be grateful, it's probably fascist sycophancy.

When your prosody is 🌶️🔥🌶️🔥, you gotta show it off.

My only minor quibble is that this diagram 100% should've been an F-35. If we are gonna have fighters at all, the Viper was actually pretty cost effective, relatively speaking.

tfw: - you're gettin' mad schadenfreude from the shocked expressions of every Wall Street fucker that voted for the guy - you're just gettin' mad for every regular American that's getting fucked right now

*chef's kiss*

It's a weird thing to look at stocks for news. On the one hand, it's literally the current vibes and whims of the buyers and sellers, and then the algorithmic triggers responding to that. On the other, it's where many normal people are trying to prepare for the future. All in one space. It's fun.

tfw when you're still an inexperienced noob at the whole "I'm supposed to say outlandish lies on national TV" thing.

In my former life as a religious conservative, I felt it was my duty to share the "truth." Sometimes I would get in debates with people that knew way more than me. I remember once a person using the term "peer reviewed papers" as a response to one of my ostensibly air-tight arguments for god. 1/2

This thread, slightly expanded, in article form:

Dear god yes. Please make it stop. Our stupid fucking car-addicted society… apple.news/AcBERmyMARJ-...

Yeah, that's about right. All the people that remember are dead, so we can repeat it and see if it works this time.

In case you've been sleeping, Kelsey's wizardry doesn't end at #kubernetes, and I am here for it.

It clearly must have been the only way for them to save money. www.reuters.com/business/aut...

We are easily fooled by the pomp and circumstance of politics. The truth is that any institution that you think you trust is only as good as the people working hard to keep that institution trustworthy. Remove those people, and your institution WILL fail, no matter how large, and how high.

It is absolutely wild to me how something as simple as his diction shows how he is unable to fathom points of view other than his own. And even more wild that such a large swath of Americans don't/won't see it.

Two links, that are just darkly hilarious, and deeply stupid. In this first one, do a find on the term "British Indian Ocean Territory": www.theguardian.com/business/202... And, next...just read through this at a casual pace. Take special note of who lives there: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British...

I’m aware that this take is hovering above freezing, but like: I think he still genuinely does *not* understand how tariffs work.
