Threw down last week when the director of an independent living home refused to let a neighbor help a neighbor (it disrupted the director's comfort, you see). Takeaways: 1) My fuse is shorter lately; 2) Authority should ABSOLUTELY be challenged; 3) I need to reboot my mindfulness practice.

Why does swearing make things easier? Because it does.

Last night, I was elected to serve as Chair of Portland's Planning Commission. I am very excited (!!) to work with colleagues, staff, City Councilors, and community members to build pathways within our new form of government that ensure our policies are informed by meaningful, equitable engagement.

I had the profound honor of performing at the #KennedyCenter during my last year of college as the only Linfield student to have ever won the Irene Ryan regional acting competition. Oh, by the way, I'm queer. . This is just so...bereaving. operawire.com/kennedy-cent...

Is there a word in, I don't know, Dutch, to express the dilemma of wanting to opine strongly about a story but also not wanting to bring additional attention to the story, lest it cause more harm to certain parties?

Thank you for this lovely reminiscence, @nathanmwilliams.bsky.social !

The Treasury Department right now. People are turning out against Musk and DOGE staging a takeover of the Treasury’s payment system. This crowd is big. The whole block is packed. “Lock him up,” everyone yells.

Stripe.com just announced that Mark Zuckerberg will be joining their CEO as a keynote speaker at their conference in May. So I guess I'll be looking for a different payment portal for my small business. Got faves?

The person next to me at the gym said, "Wow, you're strong!" I was like, you're very kind, but that's just what abject rage looks like on a treadmill. #democracyisamarathon #itsalsoasprint

This week has felt like a month with all the cruelty and chaos coming from the West Wing. So here is a photo of sweet Olive for your Friday timeline cleanse. #dogsofbluesky

this thing on here of people responding to arguments about legality/illegality of an action with nihilistic declarations that it doesn’t matter is infuriating and i share josh’s frustration with it

This week in "How to Become an Autocrat 101," Trump explores making Congress merely a budget advisory committee. This cannot stand, team. Unconstitutional and undemocratic. Here are grants to Oregon this fiscal year. Top 3 agencies are HHS, Soc Sec, & the VA. www.usaspending.gov/search/?hash...

At a time when anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric is ascendant nationally, a former communications director for the Oregon Citizen's Alliance is mailing his "newspaper" for free each month to thousands of Clackamas County residents. New @leahsottile.bsky.social just dropped!

Listening to the OR Senate Committee on #Housing & Dev. Portland's Eric Engstrom is sharing the infrastructural challenges of housing production in East Portland that includes water and sewer infrastructure. #orleg #eastportland #morethanjustsidewalks olis.oregonlegislature.gov/liz/2025R1/C...

Monday morning update: For the foreseeable future, I will be measuring time spent per task by the "DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS listening" metric. #GRáCIaSABaDBUNNy
