Climate crisis on track to destroy civilisation, warns top insurer from Allianz. This has gone beyond so-called 'alarmists' (reality: truth tellers) Extinction Rebellion or Just Stop Oil saying it, to the very industry whose profits rely on predicting the future. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

UC was a huge cut as it combined entitlement and housing benefit, a big financial loss compared to the prior scheme. However, Labour’s reforms will compound 14yrs of austerity and the impact of Covid on mental/physical health. It’s frankly disastrous. It’ll not just increase poverty, but haunt them.

As an aside, because I’m appalled by Labours benefit reform, there was ZERO real engagement or outrage when the Tories killed hundreds of thousands with austerity and put 4m kids in poverty. But, 250k more people in poverty (including 50k children) to save a small amount is contemptible, frankly.

My latest Exmoor farmstead taken from my sketchbook and worked up in acrylics.

Just calculated that I’ve been on a 41 billion mile journey round the sun, so far. Awesome.

The USA is not a place I feel inclined to visit anymore…

I thought we were seizing Russian assets?

To me it looks like Trump is deeply, deeply compromised - -and something happened after the Macron & Starmer visits that has him panicking. That was not a relaxed and confident man.

Unbelievable. Donald Trump has been invited to a state visit to the UK. We should not be rolling out the red carpet to celebrate this man. Agree? Add your name to the petition today: you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/no...

Where is the media frenzy on the mental fitness of the sitting President?

It's been obvious since January 6 that he was an enemy of the USA, the UK & the whole of the free world. Everybody still in his camp understands this as completely as everybody against it. They just prioritise personal interest over the national & international. And they know it. They all know it.

If it wasn't clear before Zelenskyy's meeting with Trump, it's crystal clear now, America is a hostile power to democratic countries. The US is on the side of far right authoritarians. If any nation is foolish enough to rely on the USA as an ally, America will stab it in the back.

How can the Americans be making exactly the same mistake as Putin made? Believing Zelensky is weak and will crumble? www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/c6...

How easy would it be to snatch power and flood the zone in the UK? Easier than you might think. My column www.prospectmagazine.co.uk/politics/dem...

Finished this one today…

There’s no hope for the world

Bluesky now has over 10 million users, and I was #4,720,618!

I haven’t posted here in a while so I thought I’d share one of my paintings. This is my take on a group of farm buildings in Penwith, Cornwall, UK.

Finished my moorland farmstead painting today.

@eddie1perez.bsky.social After seeing your post on Twitter I look forward to your continuing the debate on this platform.

Yellow gorse and ‘egg and bacon’ colours from playing in the countryside of my childhood mixed with a little bit of Cornwall.

One of my favourites

Here’s one I did earlier.

Finally finished this painting. It’s taken weeks due to the miserable weather. Had a bit of sunshine today and it made all the difference.
