Steve, it certainly is. I don't think it needs much birch to establish a colony as there isn't a lot around here.

Yes, more rounded costa suggests Chestnut.

Hi, I mark the wing with a sharpie and release the moths over a mile from the trap site.

Small Quaker was my first thought. It's certainly an odd one!

Your Turnip Moth may well have been a migrant, especially at this time of year.

Thanks Dave. Possibly! A milder night tonight, although the wind will pick up later in the night.

I've just found a Satellite, so that's 28 or 12 last night.

It is yes, however it's spreading northwards at a rate of knots.

Probably both Dark Chestnut. The moth in the right image is more obvious, with the squared off apex and straight termen.

Thanks Dave. Good luck! It's been an awful start to the year so we're due a good spell of weather.

Nore me! No, I've pretty much given up on it and just use #teammoth. No matter how many times I create the feed it only picks up human migration posts.

They were Paul. I only got a brief view of the one that escaped into the bushes but it also looked small. Mick Scott also had a runt on St Mary's the same night. Hopefully next week we'll get another chance!

Yes, it was a nice form Paul.

schalleriana I guess.

I did, yes. It's picked up the new post I created, however it's still showing posts with the term immigrants, which we want for moths but not for people!

Ah ok, probably more chance of getting something on the Common then.

Are you up in Staffs, Les?

Thanks Dave. I've made the changes (attached), trying to cut out the human migration posts, so we'll see what happens for future posts.

I think the main issue with Skyfeed is that is doesn't work very well! Regex doesn't seem to understand commands that should otherwise work.

Thanks very much Dave, I'll give this a go, plus any other unwanted words, such as Trump!

Yes, it's picking up posts about human migrants/immigrants 😑

Thanks Dave.
