I reckon one of the first things Amazon will announce is a self-proclaimed LOGAN-style "old Bond" direct-to-streaming film with Timothy Dalton or (more likely) Pierce Brosnan coming back

ICYMI: watchlist recommendations to contextualise and enhance GMK! 👇

When they were using coded symbols like 👌 and stuff, they would call you crazy for being triggered by an emoji. They are so emboldened because nobody believed us. They'll be hanging swastikas from the white house and calling us snowflakes next.

Wallace Shawn Emerges As Frontrunner To Replace Daniel Craig As James Bond

Some members of the audience berated Jun Li, a Hong Konger, for condemning Israeli apartheid at the Berlinale by howling at him "Is China a democracy?" Do they imagine he thinks China is a democracy? Is it somehow relevant? Even worse, German state security is "investigating" Jun Li for his speech?

Always loved this enigmatic interaction in GMK. Is Yuri appearing in the sub her father's unconscious hallucination, or - in keeping with the film's supernatural themes - are the unconscious Tachibanas communing in the spirit realm... or is this Yuri the last manifestation of the Guardian Monsters?

I first saw GMK over 20 years ago and it still surprises me. Yuri films a bogus news story as her colleague throws a stone into water to fake a monster appearance. Later, she reports to the entire nation on two very real monsters... and a stone falls into the Port of Yokohama, reviving one of them.

🧵 Are you a fan of Shusuke Kaneko's 2001 fan-favourite Godzilla film GMK: GIANT MONSTERS ALL-OUT ATTACK? If so, here’s some additional titles to stick on your watchlist that’ll (hopefully) contextualise, expand, and enhance your viewing experience of this modern kaiju classic!

I've built a machine that can be Confidently Wrong. It can also make pictures that all look a bit the same, as well as make a video of you kissing any celebrity or person you know. In payment, I'd like to boil the world's oceans dry, & steal all literature. For some reason, my head is not on a spike

“trans rights are human rights” trans rights are YOUR rights. we’re the canary in the coal mine, YOU are the dead miners. fascism comes for us all, we just happen to be one of the first.

In the current boutique Blu-ray boom, it's insane that the best way to watch GMK, one of the most popular and influential Godzilla films of all time, is still via a fan-distributed, fan-regraded, fan-subtitled digital version. It's a godsend that dedication like this exists.

This is what's happening to trans people in the United States right now. It's worse than you think. I guarantee it. If you're looking for an article to share with people about the current state of things for trans people, this is it. slate.com/news-and-pol...
