I always felt if we want to encourage good nutrition, lets make snap and wic money count *more* for "healthier" (veggies, whole grains, fruits, etc) options rather than restrict anything. Because things like soda or cake are perfectly fine in moderation, same as any kind of food really

Democrats need to come out with a bill that corrects this by making clear anyone on medicare or medicaid is entitled to treatment from any provider they choose. Otherwise Red State legislatures *will* use this ruling to effectively kill Medicaid/Medicare services in their states.

Here, Thomas writes a concurrence saying SCOTUS has gone too far with the idea of people having “rights.” His evidence: after the law allowing individuals to sue for violations of rights was passed in 1871, very few suits were filed. Jackson: Maybe b/c when they tried, they were lynched?

I have to wonder what the point of medicaid even is if the states can decide which providers to fund. What are the limits? Theoretically could a state just simply say "no providers are covered under Medicaid" ?

Today the GOP justices on the Supreme Court endorsed migrants being sold into slavery. They'll claim otherwise, but that's the reality — today's decision permits Trump to send people from countries around the world to any global hellhole that accepts a U.S. financial incentive.

I'm sure much has been said about the temporary suspension but from bsky's perspective, I'm pretty sure it's legally dangerous for them to allow a user to impersonate a government official, right? seems smart not to mess around with that.
