Last week to submit your game for the showcase! It can be for any game that released this year or is releasing this year or the next, AND it's completely free! #gamedev

Next Wave is at about 1/5th of capacity and still accepting entries! More info found in the form! #gamedev

If anyone wants to help out with the show, shoot us a DM! Mostly looking for video editors to help with the trailer segments in case it ends up being too much for one person. If you want to help out in a different way, we have an official Patreon! patreon.com/thestorynerdstudios #gamedev

While we have a lot of things currently in the works, it is going to take a bit to have new things to show. There are some announcements that will be happening closer to Next Wave, but outside of that, I really want to force myself to keep quiet about other things until they take more shape.

You don't have to submit games that have massive scope! Any scale of project is welcome, from one month to ten+ years! Also if you've been developing a game for ten+ years, I'm so sorry 😭🙏 #gamedev

Introducing a new yearly showcase made for indie games around the world, Story Nerd Studios is more than excited to announce Next Wave! LINK TO SUBMIT - forms.gle/m9Vwihn1dU4H... LINK TO NEXT WAVE SERVER - discord.gg/3HSj2tYC5v #gamedev #showcase #indie #pixelart #animation

This is the account that will host any rants I have about game development, pixel art outside of games, and things like that, and this account will focus solely on projects made by us, like Next Wave and our games!

Currently storyboarding the intermission segments of the show! I'll show some short clips of progress as I get there, but most of it will be hidden until the show! Then I'll probably breakdown everything that went into Next Wave #gamedev

Friendly reminder, since I don't think I ever officially stated it outside of the form itself, but this event is 100% FREE to join! Outside of some info we need about your game, there is absolutely nothing we need from you to get into this event! No follows, no Steam keys, none of that! #gamedev

In case you want the link to the announcement on YouTube: youtu.be/3tPZzsxpiNo?... #gamedev

This might come this year, after the other event I'm announcing tomorrow, but I'd change it to two weeks, and there'd be a new prompt every three days (total of four by the end, so you have days to truly bring everything together) #gamedev

Got something strong enough to run bigger games now, so my Godot journey is gonna start this summer 🗣️🙏🏿

Thinking of starting a bi-weekly podcast, audio only, where I bring on a creator from any field (mostly game dev probably) and we talk about their craft and such. Wouldn’t do this till AFTER the Nintendo Direct project, but I think it could be fun? Hour long episodes, would you listen? #gamedev

Oh yeah, no idea when exactly this will enter production, but I’ve got a pretty solid plan and pitch for this now, gotta finish Spriit’s Arcade first though

Question: if I make a single-player game, and later decide to add multiplayer as a bonus mode, is that substantially harder than just making it multiplayer from the start? Like is that am extra year of development, or would it only take a few months? #gamedev

more people need to give themselves the opportunity to be a jack of all trades when it comes to gamedev. go on and learn the music software to make the music. learn to code (even if poorly). do the art and animation yourself. you’ll get it to work! it’s liberating to see how much you can accomplish.

My solo developed game FIENDRISE officially launches next week, on Thursday, April 17, 2025! ⚔️ #indiegamedev

For any small YouTubers reading this: don't use AI to make a thumbnail, that shit looks ugly as beans. Learn how to make one yourself (it's really not hard) or pay someone good to make one for you. It will look infinitely better!

I think after Spriit's Arcade, I'm going to make the jump to Godot. I've been putting it off for a while, namely because my laptop can't run anything with a third dimension very well, but by then, I should have enough extra saved up for a decent PC that can handle everything I'd want to do.
