ultimately i can recognize and respect when i'm not the target audience for something, and this show does a decent job of bringing in viewers who aren't familiar with the OG podcast (me), but it's pretty clearly for longtime fans first.

despite its very respectable 12-episode seasons, the vastness of the source material being adapted means that the show still feels rushed in places, and a bit weighed down by its own jargon. you will never convince me "vestige" is a cool word for cool things.
