What are you doing later bro? Building the chastity experience I wish I had a decade ago.

Today in interesting constraints: so v2 lock is limited to 254 bytes in a qr code. So either that means an offline contract always has to fit in that space (tight!) or they need to be able to be segmented and multiple codes are needed (a pain, easy to mess up). Current plan: there’s 3 types.

Feels like I almost have a usable prototype. Dimensioning and tolerance are mostly done on the prints. Now back to making it all work together with software 😂😂

Oooh. Ahhh. I’ve actually been making test prints for a few days trying to get all the physical dimensions and tolerances right. It’s like 80% there but sometimes things don’t fit quite right. This is essentially what the final thing will look like though.

So. Close. Everything that can get in the way did today 😤

Behold! Panel mounted reverse tft screen (the previous one, the board sat on top of the lid, now it’s behind). Also 3 buttons for some super basic control. Also, and I like this touch, recessed bolts for a little sleeker look. Also easier to make tamper resistant.

Starting to test possible arrangements of the hardware for V2 lock (code name Tartarus atm). The consolidated core + sensor is about the size of the original lock box’s tray 🤣. The new design might conceivably just be twice the width of the tray (that’s prob 70% smaller).

Mini updates! First pass at new lock protocol is coming along nicely. Construction of contract (flatbuffers), digital signatures (elliptic), parsing in firmware all work. Very basic WiFi implemented. Probably take a few hours tomorrow to mockup a new enclosure. Trying to adhere to all

Lockbox 2.0 thinking out loud session. The new prototype is limited to 254 bytes of what it can read at a time. For a very simple lock protocol that's more than enough. If it were to support more advanced features (eg time based locking, blind contracts, whatever) encoding all that into 254 bytes

I’ve been locking up after the gym to get into the right… “mood”… for building lockbox 2.0 😈. It’s difficult to methodically work on something for hours that happens to also be your personal boner fuel.

Chastity lockbox 2.0 thoughts! Software proof of concept is working. No more keypad, swap lcd screen for tft (shown), overhaul lock protocol, almost total overhaul of online parts, add QR code sensor. The most important constraint in the original was “no network.” I didn’t want to deal with wifi

Sometimes lower tech does the job really well when you need something simple.

As a little treat I might try and build a personal version of my imagined lockbox 2.0. A more sophisticated and simpler lock protocol. Maybe remove the server components entirely.

One of my favorite things about power exchange as a kink is you can enjoy it (almost) as visibly as you like. It’s such a hot secret to have a cage or thong on at the gym. You can be someone’s alpha fantasy from across the room while wishing you’d get humiliated in the locker room 😈🤣

What’s your favorite fun athletic wear brand that isn’t $20 crap? I’m always on the lookout for someone that makes some decent+flattering sweatpants without a jogger cut at the ankle.

Be gay- do crimes. Enjoy BDSM. Dance in the streets. Go full cyber punk. Build and deploy rogue networks. Look people in the eye when you tell them to fuck off. Bake treats. Play Stardew Valley. Contribute to open source. Read sci-fi. Engage with art. Color outside the lines.

The almost-overwhelming desire to go on LinkedIn and post “have you ever shat so hard your nipples tingled? And other things I learned about B2B SaaS.”

Related: My life feels intensely cyber punk. I’m a wildly capable, knight errant engineer with manufacturing capability hanging out on the streets of New York, tenuous relationship to corporate world, sometimes making custom BDSM equipment, and a whole lot of custom hardware.

Funnily, my discovery feed is a ton of game dev, gpu chatter, and Linux discourse. All of them are pretty accurate topic-wise but it’s so funny to read through threads and like… no, that’s not how that works at all 🤣🤣

Here’s a thing I believe: when you put the absolute bare minimum of energy into something and it doesn’t go the way you want, that’s on you.
