Amnesty international urges Labour to stop it's cruel welfare cuts. www.bigissue.com/news/social-...

Pete Hegseth mystified how top secret details of the US attack on Yemen were leaked when he only told A Journalist ✅ His wife ✅ His brother ✅ His lawyer ✅ The journalist told the world His wife probs told her hair dresser His brother probs told a barman The lawyer probs kept it for leverage 🙄🤷🏼‍♂️

It should be a no brainier so what is Labour playing at?

This is the result of electing an unserious person as the head of a government. The US will take decades to recover from this damage

Where is our humanity?

He’s got away with untold crimes, lies & offences. He’s achieved the highest office in the land. Twice. He’s lining his pockets on an industrial scale & persecuting his enemies for fun. But he’s still a miserable, bitter, humourless & furious man. Because deep inside, he knows *exactly* who he is.

“They walked the full length of the train and questioned every single passenger about their citizenship status. According to the conductor, who has worked nearly 40 years on that route, this was a first. In all his decades of service, federal agents have never boarded his train like this.” ‘Cmon 🇺🇸!

One man is standing up for the rule of law in Britain. His reward is to be savagely attacked by right wing think tanks, newspapers & politicians. They understand where the battle against populism is taking place. And they've marshalled their forces accordingly. iandunt.substack.com/p/a-good-man...

So true. This is what the aftermath of balloon releases looks like...

Trevor Philips, "Is the 10% tariff on the UK a benefit of Brexit?" Caroline Lucas, "Leaving the EU costs us 5% of GDP" "Trump's 10% tariff has an impact of 0.3%" "And this special relationship with the US is no better than an island with a whole load of penguins on it"

Caroline Lucas, "Why doesn't Reeves also change her self imposed fiscal rules that are causing so much damage" "Why doesn't she look at a wealth tax?" "The idea that we balance the books on the backs of the poor which is exactly what Rachel Reeves is doing"

Boris Johnson has used his Daily Mail platform to slag off “Adolescence” and compare Starmer to Pol Pot. This is a politician, a paper and a headline that sum up the debasement of our politics and the toxic level of ‘debate’ it encourages. Grotesque that he gets airtime to insult us all like this.

Remember this?! 👇

Absolutely spot on. Tit for tat tariff wars are the trade equivalent of Mutually Assured Destruction. Much better for the UK to rekindle/foster ties with Europe and other global partners and to demonstrate that we don't need America. Leave them to it and ruin Trump's game.

Lucky for Starmer most people have forgotten his 10 pledges he made when running for Labour leader, given he's abandoned so many, including: free movement, higher income tax for top 5%, higher corporation tax, abolish UC, common ownership of rail/mail/energy and water, no more NHS outsourcing, etc.

A second child has died of measles in Texas. Measles is both dangerous AND preventable. In fact high childhood Vax rates (>95%) can eliminate it completely from a country. Please read and share our recent report on once common childhood diseases. independentsage.org/wp-content/u...

Feels like Keir and co think the political capital is in alluding to cautious, grown up, backroom diplomacy and not big, bold leadership in a time of (trade and other) war. I fear the reverse is true, and an opportunity to shine, and rally the country, is being squandered.

How sad am I, sat in my garden on this lovely, gentle Spring afternoon reading but can’t resist checking where the planes are off to. With the beautiful blue sky they are so easy to see and my grandchildren have started this as they love to know where the planes are going to.

Schools are going to start teaching anti-misogyny lessons in the wake of the TV show Adolescence. While I’m all for this, why did it take A TV SHOW and not thousands of women losing their lives/having their lives ruined for society to actually do something?

It's as though we learnt nothing from the pandemic! You CANNOT have a healthy economy *without* healthy people. It's not health v economy; it's health And economy. #SpringStatement

800,000 to miss out on up to £4,500 in PIP after benefits cut The changes will see 50,000 children pushed into poverty inews.co.uk/news/politic...

1200 Europeans died fighting to defend the US during the War in Afghanistan. Thousands more suffered life-altering injuries. European countries spent $50 billion on that war - the only time NATO Art.5 has ever been invoked. Yet, Europeans are "pathetic" free-loaders, according to Hegseth & Vance.

A ‘benefit’ of #Brexit is the crisis in medicine supply. Medication to ease epilepsy and cystic fibrosis are affected & many more. This is part of the mess that greedy cynics - Johnson, Farage, Tice, ReesMogg, Cambridge Analytica et al dumped on us for their own gain. Only one solution: #RejoinEU 🇪🇺

Elon Musk has an expansive portfolio of business interests that could intersect with his government work. Yet, unlike another high-profile "special government employee," Musk hasn't obtained a conflict of interest waiver yet. Who would have guessed www.nbcnews.com/politics/tru...

Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, @cavuhb.bsky.social, have implemented a No Visiting Policy and closed services to all general visiting to manage this Norovirus outbreak.' The virus is very contagious; it spreads very easily and quickly. cavuhb.nhs.wales/news/latest-...

This country is awash with money. The very rich are rich beyond imagination. So when Starmer wants to stay within his arbitrary fiscal rules, who does he decide to take money from? The very rich? No, from people with disabilities who depend on benefits for the bare minimum of a decent life.

Cry for me Britannia. Over 85,000 children in Britain living in extreme poverty. Nursery-aged child hospitalised malnourished, caused heart condition, teeth removed. Govts prioritise arbitrary fiscal rules, won't tax the rich, redistribute. 1% has more wealth than 70% of the population combined.

That's going to send him off the edge

The worst off in parts of Britain are now poorer than those in Slovenia and Malta after a decade and a half of stagnant incomes. The UK has the sixth largest economy in the world. That this is the economic reality for so many is utterly shameful.

Depressingly, I think this is so outside their range of current experience ( because it’s how services are NOW that count- not how they were when they were growing up) that I don’t think they can relate to it. Ppl in poverty will exist on the margins away from their privileged gaze.

That must be one of the most Orwellian statements ever. It’s bad enough to cut people’s benefits. To pretend some kind of higher “moral” duty while you’re doing so is insulting and offensive
