trying to navigate a new potentially world-changing thing, with conflicting reports from all sides
and most likely the word of a technical person they trust more putting them on the anti-side
if you cannot handle laypeople having emotional reactions to current issues, that's bad advocacy

- hold random person to the standard of an expert
- require technical explanations from them
- pretend that's "good faith"
- bloviate about how you're intellectually superior
with advocates like this, AI doesn't even need militant opponents
yes, the average anti can't explain shit. They're just

I know I'm a random but I'm always happy to play a set of sf, learning Chun rn too so finding more people to play sets with is cool

this gw, I was introduced to the wonders of simply killing your units yourself (dark party member, yatima main summon + death + 2 one-use summons, summon yatima which is guaranteed to randomly pick death)

Just FA'd 155s until I had enough to uncap the wonder, then until I hit max xp, thrn bought and maxed out 1 of the new weapon and finally tried all the challenge trophies once or twice and then stopped

actually, full hater mode: It's not that I think that Rise is better than World, I think World is *worse* than Rise
World is easily my least favourite MH lmao (started with 3U and played every single one since). Tho "least favourite" is still like an 8/10.

In particular, scope-based variable name length. "The more can see it, the longer the name"; a loop index is `i`, `j`, or `k`; function parameters are words, datatype members are *at least* words.
(with exceptions for common math/physics constructs I guess.)

I've adopted and discarded a lot over the years. I had a period of intense language-hopping (intentionally; I was interested in languages themselves). After that, most of the ones that survived are pretty conscious.

a slightly more-power user finds a solution made by somebody else that works, disseminates it, and then somehow it's the original programmer's fault that it's just a python script on GitHub.
Tl;dr please make sure there was the promise of a product before treating it like one, otherwise agreed

a "presence", thus inviting this expectation of a ready-to-use product. But, categorically, unless taken on by the maintainer themselves, that expectation should not be allowed to exist.
Honestly, I would wholeheartedly agree if I hadn't time and time again seen the situation play out where 4/

Broadly, the choice here isn't between "lol go to github" and "download this clearly-labelled exe"--the choice is between "lol go to github" and "".
That said, Github should NOT provide a way to download anything at all imo, because it blurs the line between an internal tool and 3/

"why do those evil ivory tower programmers yada yada" does the following thing: It will create an atmosphere in which it is NOT OKAY to just solve a problem for yourself and make it available. You always have to have a *product* ready. There are orders of magnitude of effort between those. 2/

Hm. No, I get it. A bunch of programmers are assholes, and it's a travesty that regular users are being directed to Github at all.
But I think this framing, long-term, is harmful. By all means, point out specific examples, but generalising to 1/
