I think realistically we will have to gradually wean ourselves off the US teat; it’s not gonna happen overnight. There’s an opportunity to increase trade between Europe and commonwealth and slow down trade with US, they are no longer a reliable partner…

Yes, I invested mainly in US based funds; pensions have been doing rather well up until this clown show arrived in the scene and we won’t be able to get rid of him! I do take a long term view, but he has 4 years to wreak havoc! Ironically I am hoping he returns to his capitalist ways soon!!

Hopefully you are correct; but this feels a little different to Brexit; Mango Mussolini has 4 years to wreak unabated at havoc without much in the way of checks and balances. At least parliament checked some of the Brexit madness and also got rid of Truss!!

I think it’s the pragmatic approach given how much future generations are having to give up. The tories and the right have truly fkd this country up; the only way to ‘compensate’ the nation is to tax the very richest and not the rest of us. We should not be picking up the pieces!

I think reality of being in govt hasn’t helped. They could tax the ultra rich instead of JAMs taking the burden. I agree with IHT on farmers and removing winter fuel for the richest and pensioners, and at a push WASPI, the ret feels out of of order and very Tory!
