Hi I'm Ed and have been making surfing game with unity for a while now. I'm from California and my latest surf game Surfers Code is pivoted more toward adventure and story to attract more Steam users. I kind of like doing the physics and tech stuff more than the art side but variety is cool.

I had a streamer play it for an hour and she didn't even surf. It was in German so I have no idea what she said about it. Looked like she was having fun.

Surfers Code and many other indie games are proud to be a part of the Indie Assemble celebration of Steam games. Check out the games and demo some this week. store.steampowered.com/app/2733280/...

Tough enough getting players to surf right

It's incentive to explore to find uncrowded breaks.

Duck dive is at 18 seconds.

there's a button that takes you straight to the takeoff spot for most waves but if you don't use it then you can duck dive and catch waves anywhere, however, you may go underwater at times. Technically the camera can't detect a wave without a collider on it.

ha ha. No that's not a duck dive it's a turtle roll. Just kidding. I'd like that not to happen but the way it is set up it will sometimes do that. It's complicated. I'll post a duck dive. You can let me know if it is acceptable.

That's huge. Thank you.

It doesn't show duck diving in this video. Duck diving is a necessity in steep barreling waves, not so much for this one. But it does work fine. Time the wave, dive and hold b as long as necessary. Do it wrong and you'll get dragged over the falls. He paddles underwater rarely, for game performance.

I'm using steam record and edit it in blender so I can control the output settings. It comes out fine in the video on my computer but when I put it online I can't keep the quality. It looks blurry and pixelated on youtube and twitter and bluesky

When I post my videos they look much worse than before I post them. I loose quality and they look pixelated and choppy. It's what settings to use for the videos to get the best post???

well, after posting it and seeing it on here it looks horrible still. Any tips? Promise it looks way better than this when playing.
