It’s not just the youth. My neighbor who has always been an active Democrat and a safe person to talk to in the previous T administration voted for Jill Stein this time - because Gaza - and now isn’t going to call her congresspeople because “it doesn’t matter.”

When I called my congresspeople’s offices today (weekly call), I added that Trump’s approach of governing by executive order and breaking the law is making them irrelevant. Do they realize that and are they ok with it?

I called their corporate “Press” number to state my view, and opened a Costco account. Costco is in the same area and I have an Aldi in town, so too bad Target.

I subscribed to one yesterday. A real newspaper, not owned by an oligarch. $25 for two years for a subscription to the Des Moines Register. It cannot afford the suit the Asshole Litigant has filed against it. I don’t care about farm policies, but I do about journalism. www.desmoinesregister.com

I was parked outside the local Trump store after the election (it’s next to my coffee shop) and three white guys were outside, laughing about how “they” were calling Trump a fascist. They were quiet for a moment and one of them asked quietly “what’s a fascist?”

With you. I’ve set up a routine to make it easy to call my state and federal representatives about issues, and made calls this week. Listening to good books like On Tyranny to get better informed. Switched my media consumption over to journalists on Substack.

I’ve already checked out my local national park’s volunteer website. Now just waiting for my broken hand to finish healing so I can help.

You didn’t ask me. I’m here for it now like I wasn’t last time.

Second this. I got a notice yesterday that “Steve Bannon” followed me yesterday and before I could block the account, it was removed.
