This person came to the U.S. through the legal process (applied in Mexico) and applied for asylum, he had a court date set in April to hear his case. Instead he was sent to a notorious hard labor prison camp in a foreign country on these flimsy charges without so much as a single hearing.

NEW! Sworn declarations filed last night confirm the Trump admin sent INNOCENT people to rot in prison El Salvador, including a professional soccer player jailed and tortured by the Maduro regime, who entered this country LEGALLY to seek asylum, and who has NO CRIMINAL RECORD in either country.

Totally agree with this. Flying a person to a third country that they may never have been to, directly into a prison where they are going to be forced to do hard labor, is not a deportation; it's something else entirely.

NEW today from @miamiherald.com: more men sent to El Salvador on Saturday have been identified by their families, including a 27-year-old who entered legally at a port of entry in 2023 through the CBP One app and a 29-year-old father of a baby born here last year. Neither have any criminal record.

Thank you Senator Murphy. Where are my NY Senators?!

This song is stuck in my head after reading the news tonight about the terminated foreign aid programs. youtu.be/HLUX0y4EptA?...

Rubio terminated 5800 USAID contracts – more than 90% of its foreign aid programs – in defiance of the courts. Here’s a list of just some of the lifesaving awards that were terminated. Nearly all were Congressionally mandated. They’ve saved millions of lives. 🧵

Gutting work from @pamherd.bsky.social on the brutality of Trump's anti-accessibility policies and the harm it does to our best students. Cutting accessibility is actually how you destroy merit, not promote it. Who is included in Trump's America? open.substack.com/pub/donmoyni...

Excellent and important article.

To be clear: the United States Government deployed this family to a country with substandard healthcare with the promise that help would be on the way if they ever needed it. Now, Donald Trump twice denied this woman a potentially life-saving, embassy-requested medevac.

This is a program for teenagers with serious disabilities who are finishing high school and transitioning to their next steps in life. Trump just axed it, effective immediately, in the middle of the night, with no notice.

As a parent of two kids with special needs, I'm pretty damn excited to know that a racist billionaire who routinely uses the slur "r*tards" is destroying the federal department that's a bulwark for special education and support for disabled children.

This was the motto of the civil society movement to resist Bolsonaro’s right wing authoritarianism in Brazil. I learned it from @annagalland.bsky.social and love it. Would love to see American designers do their own interpretations.

Just received this photo from a friend of a warehouse in Kinshasa. These are tuberculosis medications--ALREADY PAID FOR--that aren't being distributed due to the Trump Administration's stop work order. TB treatment is being interrupted in SO many patients around the world. What does that mean? (1/2)

To me, it's simple. I'm not going to vote for or expedite a single Trump nominee while this constitutional crisis persists and deepens. That's just a component of real opposition, but it has to be the starting point. No complicity. Fierce opposition.

Horrible. And to do it so abruptly - they couldn’t wait until after the rainy season to cut off our malaria prevention work?! They couldn’t even give some notice before we just stopped transporting health supplies?! This is evil. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/01/h...

Good morning, everyone! Today is a another beautiful day to fight for our democracy. Our federal workers are under attack from Elon Musk and Trump. Let’s flood the phone lines of your Republican Senators and Representatives to let them know we won’t accept these attacks.

I rebuke and condemn the monstrous and grotesque racism expressed by Trump & others in their ignorant and crass assignation of blame for this tragedy, which is an affront to Kiah Huggins’ life’s work. Signing off for the night.

I bet my life that RFK Jr. is home this eve looking up Medicaid and Medicare on Wikipedia. This word salad revealed that he has pretty much zero idea what Medicaid is. www.youtube.com/watch?v=bO7h...
