The scenes in the Oval Office today will shame the US for decades. They’ll never be forgotten.
A world leader, fighting for his country against the 21st century’s Nazis, came to the US and was attacked & abused by a gangster regime siding with the fascist invaders.
A historic disgrace.

Using GWP100 & GWP*, my initial analysis of CCAC national scenarios shows the only Teagasc scenario enabling "climate neutrality by 2050" requires a 28% cut in agri CH4/yr by 2040.
So IMO, claiming an 8% cut by 2040 is sufficient agri CH4 mitigation is misleading & amounts to political advocacy.

Big reason for the public view is that our politicians, department, advisory & academic experts have AGREED Irish deep climate action IS feasible,
BUT they have abjectly failed to communicate to the public what is REQUIRED: enforced limits on high emitting activities eg. diesel, dairy, data centres.

5. Nor are weapons components & luxury cars the only problem.
The other issue is UK/Europe is still effectively funding the Putin war machine by consuming Russian oil/gas. Despite sanctions banning Russian oil. How? Oil is refined in India & then sent to us. It's laundered! youtu.be/CtSumGaab2Y?...

We must start thinking not just as subjects within in impersonal, inexorable system, but as free agents joining together to fight other human beings in an epochal, even species-defining battle over which system is going to ultimately decide our future on this planet.

Working from Lamboll et al “well below 2°C” (83% chance) global carbon budget www.nature.com/articles/s41... & with an equal per capita division of that budget (which anyway fails the Paris equity framing) Germany needs zero fossil fuel emissions (inc. aviation & shipping) several years before 2045.

Bringing back memories of seeing Much Ado, early evening, in Heaven, Charing Cross, c. 1986. Four players for all the parts, a tiny, stage with we the audience part of the staging, the players appearing among us, transporting us through fits of helpless shared laughter & enchanted moments. Magic.

Just to say, though, up hiking in Mournes and in Newcastle two years back, NI library had no problem giving us full membership and cards with our Dublin address.
All-Ireland public library magic!

Which is hugely ironic given the amount of money and effort the intensive livestock industry puts into communications that misinform the public by divert from its negative climate and water impacts and the inadequacy of its "solutions", including feed additives.
