Now that I think about it, I don't think I've ever seen a cargo bike in my home town. Lots of golf carts though!

It's time to stop listening to objections from the cities. Local governments have failed. If they were willing to solve the problem they would have tried by now.

Yesterday and today's conditions have me thinking that I should have a "mountain biking for commuters" clinic where we practice how to manage a bike through things like this. It shouldn't be necessary, but it's nice to be able to ride through this kind of stuff instead of walking.

Not easily accessible. Here's what it looked like a few weeks ago close by? Did you know Google will tell you where you took photos and put them on an interactive map? It's cool to look at where I take pics on my walls and bike rides.

I think my camera can do up to 10 minute segments that would have to be merged together. Also, can't speak to audio quality, I don't have an ear for that kind of thing. I'm also too lazy to edit them together.

Cars do more harm than good. I agree that it's unfortunate that this is what it takes to attract attention to that fact. www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

@thewaroncars.bsky.social and r/f**k cars are catchy names for the bigger movement that car centric planning and infrastructure is dangerous and irresponsible. People need other options because cars and the infrastructure built to accommodate them are inaccessible, unpleasant, and unsafe.

Here's some pictures with the pannier bags open. There are bags that open to accept random items (that are smaller than a Costco tp package). The bags can be collapsed to accept the larger items like the TP as long as they hold their own shape

This image shows my cargo bike with a full Costco toilet paper load. We live ~3 miles from costco. I'd already unloaded the basket of bread products and giant bags of chips before taking this picture.

I think about this parallel a lot, but part of the problem is that many still see automobiles as essential to everyday life. They do everything to justify the existence of a system which encourages deadly behavior.
