In general I am annoyed at people like Matt treating this as if we “only” put a tariff on finished manufactured goods. No, we hit all the raw material inputs and equipment necessary for industrialization because the president is dumb and just likes tariffs. Manufacturing output is going down not up.

In this interview Schumer says he agrees with Trump’s decision to pull $400 million from Columbia. A university in his own state. And he’s unconcerned about the unlawful arrest of Mahmoud Khalil, one of his constituents. He is a traitor who needs to resign.

No matter what Schumer says tomorrow about why he just had to capitulate to a party actively facilitating a coup, there's no benefit, nothing won from any amount of concession. No cloture, no compromise. Not a vote, not an inch.

I just spoke to assistants for my @senatedem.bsky.social telling them that, while a gov shutdown would massively effect my ability to live, that they NEED to vote NO for cloture, no for the house budget, that I will vote for whoever primaries them if they don't vote NO. Call yours! Wait on hold!

The thing I'll always remember about Al Green is that he was the first Democrat to introduce articles of impeachment against Trump in 2017, after Comey was fired. He also argued that Trump was impeachable for his bigotry alone. This was completely out of step with most Democrats and party leaders.

Dem base is so contemptuous of national level Dems because they refuse to set a narrative beyond vague promises that haven't led anywhere substantive or enduring since the ACA, which itself was half assed. Meanwhile Rs have run and won based on narratives that are entirely confabulated nonsense
