As someone who knows a lot of machinists you're highly misinformed if you think modern production is just "button pusher" type jobs.

Eh... Secret of NIMH (and Bluth's other films), W' Speed Racer, Iron Giant, Prince of Egypt, Bambi, Pinocchio, Fantasia, Beauty and the Beast, Miyazaki's children aimed films, etc etc etc... have so much more creativity, thematic depth, artistry than any Marvel movie.

And to every comment deriding someone for asking if you actually watched it for context, you're literally just doing the thing right wingers do to attack people on the left so great job.
Don't fall into literally the exact same media trap they all have, be better.

Get through to a person if you can! Wait on hold however long it takes! The vote is today, by the time they check their voicemails it'll be too late (though please do leave a VM if you aren't able to wait on hold).

Check your sources, don't believe something just because it's getting RTs, and call your senators and tell them to vote no

Other folks are saying this dude is not legit, don't take his word for it.
None the less, calling my senators right now to tell them not to vote for cloture or spending bill or else I won't vote for them

It's as though people respond when you put in Democrats who have things like "principles" that motivate them to take a stand and "fight" for what they believe instead of *checks notes* assuming the position any time the Republicans alter the terms of debate or a wealthy donors calls to complain

Ever since the pandemic seems like people like cannot discern how the theatre is a different environment than their fucking living room.
Even in theaters that are primarily patronized by movie geeks!

And randos with no real political affiliation aren't going to take seriously a useless heap of fabric on the ground no matter how much you desperately try to sell it as a viable option. This is why Harris lost!

Lol describing outrage at the chief executive shutting down House funded sections federal government on a whim as "polarization and gridlock"...
Man you really must love the taste of Trump's spats huh?

Average Joe sees this. May not be a conscious thought but they implicitly associate this with fear, weakness, lack of principles, no ideological framework, that whatever the Dems promise will not be fought for tooth and nail, and only manifest as the paltry of table scraps

I grew up a neo-con (eventually became a very leftist Dem). This is exactly it. Aside from a blip in 2008, and for a second or two after George Floyd, the Dem leadership has always been comporting the party in response to Republican messaging, wealthy donor whims, the clueless pundit class

The best way to appeal to that last third is with strong, unambiguous gains for the working class (M4A, decreased retirement age, more social security, lower housing costs, free or low tuition uni, fund apprenticeship programs)
And fearlessly pair it with a clear, principled ideological backbone.

Also taking a sledge hammer to world order/international humanitarian law, pissing all over arms export legislation including the The Leahy Law, and constantly lying—either directly or via underlings—to enable Israel's mass murder of Palestinians was so right wing even W. & co would feel upstaged

The Dem leadership is just choking the life out of the Dems in the house and the party as a hole. The desire is there to fight back but Jeffries has his fucking boot on their throats.

Lol the people who did that later got chewed out by Dem leadership (which I assume means Jeffries): www.axios.com/2025/03/06/t...
Those reps thought walking out, paddles, suits were transgressive—even though those actions were pathetic—because it *is* transgressive the to the Dem leadership!

Average Joe isn't going to vote for a party that smells of fear, they won't vote for people whose beliefs seemingly are at every changing whim of focus groups, out of touch DC pundits, rich donors and CEO surrogates, and most importantly, at the whim of Republican messaging.

This this this. Low info voters who don't really have a political orientation beyond vibes need ideological frameworks confidently, proudly, fearlessly shouted in their faces that they can glob onto.
Dems constantly comporting themselves to Republican messaging reeks of fear and spinelessness

Remember how universal healthcare was in the 2020 conversation to the point that even someone as uninspired as Harris jumped at supporting it because of how much it resonated with the base?
Biden's nom and presidency killed it to the point that Harris felt she didn't have to support it anymore
comment in response to

If Democrats continue be obviously fearful and reluctant of confidently presenting a set of basic principles from which their policies and governance flow from, the all important low info median voter will implicitly smell that fear and simply vote for the only other party speaking loudly without it

In the House and Senate the Dem leadership makes sure to clip the wings of leftists and progressives. They only let through younger folks who are willing to be hosts of their outdated, myopic ethos. People like Jeffries who aren't willing to abandon Clinton's "Reaganism-lite" to win.

People were not happy, for sure. The rep isn't bad but you just cannot see the fire in the Dems right now... Can't even see the clicking of the pilot light when it comes to the national level stuff.
Their leadership disempowers them... We saw this at SOTU where they wanted Dem reps to not distrupt

The base can sense the lack of spine, the frustration with only words. Even non Dem voters—Republicans and unaffiliated—can smell the focused grouped, non committed fear in having any definite principles or ideas aside from the most inane boiler plate stuff approved by the DNC.
That's why they lose

Agreed. Suffice to say this answer didn't go over well at the town hall. The rep said that most Republican reps are "good people who want to serve their constituents" but that Trump bullies them and they get death threats.
Like yes that's very sad but also these fuckers are destroying the country!
