Make comics. Actually make them and FINISH them and MOVE ON and make another one and another. Start small. Make a one panel comic. Make a one page comic. Make a two or three page comic. Make a five page comic. Now you've really learned something! Keep going.

Good intentions or not, this kind of thinking turns reading into a chore and leads to not reading as an adult. Even "real literature" was often the "dessert book" of its day. I love Shakespeare, but if we're honest it's still mostly fart jokes wrapped in pretty words.
