In this environment, you'd be silly not to commit crimes as a company, if paying Trump directly is the cheapest option available.

The weakness of it's democracy will forever (or until there are sufficient reforms - so let's say forever) make the US an unreliable ally at best. This means Europe needs to be independent in all strategic regards, which definitely include cloud infrastructure. I am up for a little protectionism.

It started as an April fools joke, but now the geneticists are on it and soon the Japanese will grow these in cube shape.

Please stop it with the helplessness, it is time to do everything in your power. The "march on DC" is a straw man. Protest in the nearest city and work around the issues. In a situation this dire, anything less than 10% of the country being out there every single week just seems like apathy to me.

I feel that! Many tools are just infuriatingly bad, making very easy things slightly easier and supposedly easy things very hard. The exception: PydanticAI by @pydantic.dev. It's still relatively fresh, but it's built by people who know how to write production code for people who know.

Don't forget the cobblestoned bodies of people who told others they were overreacting.

I think the two party system, a natural (even mathematical) consequence of the "winner takes it all" elections, has run it's course and it's time for deeper reforms. But that would mean a significant drop in power for both parties, which is why I am not holding my breath.

Utterly dumb, malicious, and self destructive! My only hope is, that Europe will pick up the top talent, so that China and SpaceX profit as little as possible.

The German "Arsch" supposedly comes from the Greek ὄρος (óros: hill, mountain), so there is still fun to be had. But "assiduity" not meaning sitting down on your ass and doing it, remains disappointing.

Big cuts to research funding are very high on my "Best Ways To Speedrun Your Country Into Irrelevance" list.

Me: Do you mean some kind of plot or a G=(V,E) kind of graph?

Cool! If you ever want to give vim a spin again, LazyVim is a great way to get something useful right away. The variations should be fun! My ideas are all a bit nerdy: nano Jesus with Ctrl+O, emacs Jesus (vim Jesus's nemesis) with Ctrl+X Ctrl+S. And Skyrim quicksave Jesus using F5.

The only thing saying "Made in China" more than "Made in China" is "Meda in China".

Thank you for sharing and being out there! I was baffled by how silent the public is in the face of this hostile government takeover. German media seems to share that perception. Seeing individuals like you do the right thing gives me a smidgen of hope and I am rooting for you!

Are you starting a crusade against subpar flora? Russet, peony... What's next? Chia seeds? Taste like value brand cardboard and turn into slimy mush the second they touch anything liquid. If I want abdominal havoc with my omega-3s, I'll get flax seeds for a fraction of the price. Chia is a scam.

I'm not from the US, my taxes also go towards intact infrastructure and healthy democratic institutions, which I do like.

That must be the "masculine energy" Zuck wants more of.

A lesson from historic East Germany: Peaceful mass protest is a superpower to create lasting change.

Incredibly disappointed with how neutered most news outlets are acting. If journalism is not speaking truth to power, it is worse than worthless.

I can only imagine how good a James Veitch style conversation under this premise would turn out.

An AI agent controlling your computer can make it easier for you to get hacked in the first place. Many breaches are due to social engineering or phishing. Having the same mechanical doofus controlling thousands of machines sounds like a juicy hypothetical target. Not a security guy though.
