No worries, I know, it's more that I'm frustrated at toonboom for getting worse and worse. I'm probably going to be looking to change my pipeline over this year and the next anyway with the way things are going. Gonna be looking for opensource solutions and tahoma looks like a good contender

Tl;DR
There's a reason industry storyboarders prefer to draw in SB pro (same drawing tools system as TB harmony) rather than photoshop, and it's not the timeline or the fancy post production stuff

I put a lot of value on my comfort while working, and these tools are worth the compromise of overpaying for a software that is becoming just bloat over the years.

Of using the software, but it's hard to imagine anything more streamlined than it. I'm shocked it hasn't been replicated anywhere. the SPA blender add-on tried to make blender feel like toonboom, but until the brush engine receives it's long awaited overhaul, it's a no go.

Along with how the shortcuts work (hold shortcut for a tool, or alt+shortcut to toggle). Once you get your shortcuts setup and have some mileage with it,

It's the most seamless way of digital drawing I know, and I'm aware that some of it comes from a decade -

SO
The nodal compositing integrated into toonboom for one is a pretty significant aspect, but I know that opentoonz and tahoma have something close enough.
What I would REALLY struggle to move from, is the vector/raster hybrid brush engine and the select/cutting tools that work along it.

Part of me wants more people to pick up the software 'cause it still does a lot of unique stuff that's extremely efficient, but at the same time, I can't justify anyone getting used to a software that has elected to make itself unavailable to most independant and freelance artists

Anything rig oriented is better off moving to moho, but this sucks! Harmony has a lot of great advantages with the integrated nodal compositing, the hybrid vector/raster brushes, the shortcut system... but those features were added 8+ years ago, everything after version 15-16 is bloat.

Drawpile might be the sleeper pick here. It's free and extremely lightweight, with a fairly functional timeline and very customizeable shortcuts. It doesn't have audio track imports to my knowledge though, that could be a dealbreaker. docs.drawpile.net/help/draw/an...

🤓actually, several people in the comments have pointed out it's not very accurate to call this "intrusive thoughts" when it's closer to a freudian slip

yes, I deliberately never purged notifs to keep an eye on how the metrics differ between notifs and profile numbers. There's like a 600 watchers discrepency between the two for example, either from unfollows, bans, terminated accounts etc...

I mean I would pick a factory job over a retail job 100% of the time if these were my only options. Maybe that's the metric missing here.
