Love your work! Let the lawsuits rain down!
Also, the therapist’s notes were not available due to “water damage”?
Holy clinical malpractice and evidence-tampering, Batman!

1) Not your research assistant and kinda busy now but I’ll see what I can do later
2) When you are proposing a radical change that affects a marginalised group (women) it’s on you to prove it’s safe and in their interests

Great to see so many misogynists and homophobes who don’t know they are misogynistic homophobes. Here to help. If you think it’s appropriate for men to redefine women without their consent and to tell LGB kids they are broken and need to be fixed, you are.. yes it’s true.. a homophobic misogynist.

Or maybe they are just one of many women who have been sexually assaulted and they have a legitimate fear of being undressed in a space with a man who thinks he’s a woman?
comment in response to

No, the evidence to date shows that men who think they are women offend at a rate higher than the male rate and much higher than the female rate. However, very few female prisoners are posting about galaxies on Bluesky, so we can safely discount their rights, opinions and needs.

I definitely think that if a trans woman (who are men) feels threatened by men in exclusively male spaces because some males don’t meet male stereotypes about how men are supposed to present and act, well, this is clearly a problem for women to solve. Get busy, ladies!

9/ I know this isn't going to be popular, but the left needs to urgently consider this dangerous ideology and see it for what it is. A massive distraction, an insult to women, a danger to children, and an ideology that's crippling the Green movement worldwide just when it needs to be strongest.

8/Alienation: Strong barriers are built between members and non members (in this case, especially between children and parents, which is worse)
Difficulty Leaving: Members face significant psychological, social, or practical challenges in attempting to leave
comment in response to
post
7/Euphoria and Rituals: Practices designed to create intense emotional experiences reinforce loyalty and group identity. "Pure trans Joy! OMG I had a period!"
Dependency: Members become reliant on the group for validation, purpose, and survival.
comment in response to
post
6/ Fear and Guilt: Fear of punishment, ostracism is used to enforce compliance
Gaslighting: Members are manipulated into doubting their perceptions or beliefs: "Trans women are literally women. If your lying eyes or the obviously male entitlement of trans women tells you otherwise, you are a bigot"
comment in response to
post
5/Exploitation: Members are often exploited financially, emotionally, or physically (Transition creates lifelong medical patients and is highly profitable)
Punishment for Dissent: Disobedience or questioning is met with severe consequences, such as shaming, expulsion, or worse.

4/Love-Bombing: “OMG you are so stunning & brave!” "Here are 10,000 new followers!"
Information Control: “Don’t talk to those vile TERFs!!”
Isolation: “We are your new glitter family”
Members are expected to dedicate excessive time, money, and energy to the group

3/ How is it like a cult? Let's list the ways.
Charismatic Leaders: Influencers
Exclusive Truth: “Only we can understand our lived experience”
Apocalyptic or Utopian Vision: “Trans Genocide, Pure Trans Euphoria”
Deceptive recruitment: “Puberty blockers are fully reversible!”

2/ And people will be revolted by their bigotry and will run into our arms. It worked.
In contrast, TRA is conducted as secretly as possible, legislation is introduced with minimal debate, debate is shut down, and it's the only movement in history where the more the public sees, the less they like

I see. It’s the crazy lady who thinks that a bunch of blokes redefining a marginalised group to suit their personal interests is perhaps a bit misogynistic, and the sensible folks who are telling LGB youth they’ve broken and need to be fixed.
Lifelong leftist here btw.

Orwell said that the bad people would limit information and control the population through pain.
Huxley said the bad people would flood the world with so much information that truth becomes a matter of opinion and that the population would be controlled with pleasure.

IMHO as scientists we need to be strategic and respectful, recognise that stinking piles of bullshit are common in science, be humble & recognise we’re not immune. But you were right the first time. It’s a stinking pile of misogynistic homophobic junk-science bullshit.

2/ So, I know you're out of your depth and what you are saying is nonsense. It appears to be crap you got from ChatGPT. And I'm still waiting for you to tell me why so many European countries have pulled back on the advice of their scientists.
I don't hate you, hope all is good, but I'm done now.

1/ They are responding to exogenous hormones, sure. That's not the same thing as a complete switch to another developmental pathway, which is impossible.
You've had the bad luck to talk to someone who is, literally as we speak, working on my other tabs on genetic disorders, some of them sex-linked.
comment in response to

So I'm a genomics specialist and what you are saying is literal nonsense. No, someone who lacks sry (ie all women) and does not produce both a functional SRY or the receptor required to respond to it does not, at all, "contain the data for both male and female developmental paths". Nonsense.

Thanks for that. Can you explain why the national scientific bodies of so many European countries have assessed the evidence you present to me and concluded there is a problem and restricted or banned puberty blockers? Sweden, Finland, Norway, UK, Denmark.
Are these organisations all transphobic?

I'm a scientist with three decades of experience. Data is what I do, all day.
If you brush off concerns about the health of a marginalised group, some people will conclude that you're prejudiced. I'm not going to block you & I hope you don't block me. But I have to call out homophobia when I see it.

With respect, you seem to be consistently brushing off evidence-based concerns about the mental, physical and future sexual health of LGB youth. I find your casual attitude ("Nothing burger", "pretty normal") dismissive and lacking in empathy, and I'm starting to wonder if you're a bit homophobic.
comment in response to

Even if that's true, which I don't accept, doesn't it bother you that it was ever normal?
Can you provide any evidence for your assertions

To put it another way, use of PB and CSH is literally the only situation in which a patient walks into a clinic with a normal developmental pattern and walks out with a wildly abnormal one. Usually it's the opposite. That's the point of endocrinology: to bring patients back within a normal range.
comment in response to
post
The comparison w PP isn't valid, because kids with PP have physical health issues before (PP) and so health issues after must be balanced against the benefits from preventing early puberty.
Kids who take PB to delay normal puberty have physical issues that can't be balanced against any such benefit.

POC, especially Latinos, and women, voted for Trump in large numbers. That is just a fact. A fact anyone can check very easily. If the only people who voted Trump are as you describe he would have been crushed.
Aren't you at all curious about that?

And this kind of simplistic analysis that lacks any curiosity about why people vote and simply lumps everyone into the "Evil Fascist" category is why you lost.

I'm not American & I don't support an orange pussy-grabbing climate-wrecking retard. I do want to understand why people did. IMHO lots of people voted against Dems, b/c they think that people who think men are women are delusional, & if they are delusional on one topic, why trust them on any other?

It's a low bar to pass. Mostly it's frustrating. Trying to explain to people that the national scientific organisations of multiple European countries cannot possibly be populated entirely of scientifically illiterate bigots. That maybe there's an issue here.

FYI I do not refer to a complex group of human beings with diverse motivations as "MAGAts". Some of them are as you describe. Some are not. Some people have reasonable concerns about immigration related to infrastructure and capacity, yet these people were lumped into the "MAGATRACIST" category.

I don't think it's the only reason he's in office. But I do think it's the thing that could have easily been addressed by Dems by simply sticking to progressive values: It's not progressive to mansplain to women what a woman is, or to redefine a marginalised group without the consent of that group.

I'm not sure about this place either but I've had one or two conversations about this issue that have reached the important threshold of not being absolutely awful.
