It's not the inflow of money. The old elected officials are so wealthy, they are not impacted by the crap decisions they make on either side of the aisle. They are financially insulated from their own dereliction of duty.

This is the problem when your elected officials are uber wealthy. They don't have skin in the game and, therefore, are unaffected by poor decisions on either side of the aisle. Chuck is now Trumps bitch even more so.

My comment was one of general disbelief. I do not reside in the US. So what do these privateers do if they are not paid. Stand around and watch Rome burn until sheckles cross their palms. No sense of civic duty, or does that come perilously close to being considered socialism?
