Because of course.

🚨UPDATE: New evidence filed by the ACLU last night shows that the Trump administration is going forward with more Alien Enemies Act deportations in seeming violation of the Supreme Court's clear command that people be provided a "meaningful" opportunity to seek judicial review.

A rare Op-Ed from Ars Staff because the times warrant it... "Yhose of us no longer within their halls and quads also have a part to play in sharing a more nuanced story about the value of the university system, both to our own lives and to the country." arstechnica.com/culture/2025...

The freight guys have really started freaking out over the past 48-72 hours:

I'm in my 60s. There's also 1980.

We'll see about that

Do they even read the files they post?

This is so wrong

The Trump administration has quietly doubled down on its plan to stop sending emergency food to millions of children who are starving in Bangladesh, Somalia, and other countries Without urgent aid, many of these children are likely to die within months www.theatlantic.com/health/archi...

ā€œThis trapdoor is wide enough to swallow the entire Constitution. So long as he can find at least one foreign strongman to cooperate, Trump can, if he wishes, imprison any dissident, judge, journalist, member of Congress, or candidate for officeā€ www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...

🚨Attention Members of the DC Bar🚨 Ballots went out today for key positions in the DC bar. Please vote for: Diane Seltzer for President Amanda Molina for Treasurer Note: Seltzer is running against Pam Bondi's brother. Get your ballot and vote ASAP.

"It’s interesting that this is being seen through the lens of immigration when what we’re really seeing is the undoing of due process in this country...This is Trump deliberately going after a community he believes are unpopular enough that no one will defend them." Melissa is great here, listen:

Come on over to the lighted side, Lisa. We're a big tent - it's every America who's against fascism. Go Independent & caucus with the Democrats.

Trump is waging a war on science.

With new, specialized, ground-based telescopes coming on line, our knowledge of hazardous asteroids and comets will grow exponentially in the coming years. Seems like a bad time to reduce science funding to NASA. Just sayin'.

We are sending people to the Salvadoran gulag for nothing at all. documentedny.com/2025/04/14/i...

RFK Jr. claimed to be for transparency. Not so much, it seems.

The DC attorney nominee has appeared dozens of times on Russian state media www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/202...

When Andrew Tate was charged with rape and human trafficking, Trump intervened to fly him back to the US. When a working-class father of a disabled 5-year-old child was wrongfully deported and charged with NO crime, Trump refuses to lift a finger.

I want to tell you why the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia should matter to you. The one power you cannot give the executive is the ability to imprison or expel anyone regardless of their legal rights. That is our key check against autocracy. And we are watching it disappear.

This is a line in the sand moment

Doing the right thing in the Trump administration will get you fired, I guess

Trump ends promising cancer research. USA! USA! ā€œTwo patients’ treatments using the experimental therapy had to be delayed because NIH’s capacity to make personalized cell therapies has been slowed by the firing of highly skilled staff..." www.washingtonpost.com/science/2025...

I love this.

We’re in SW Florida This is why many of our Canadian friends that own homes here left before it took affect. Many have said they are now considering selling unless changes are made. I don’t blame them. This will cost economy greatly

If the U.S. government is going to take the position that, once removed from the United States, folks can’t be brought back, then it sure seems to me that federal courts should be reflexively and categorically barring *all* removals until they’re 100 percent certain that the removals are lawful.

Credit to these guys for getting out there. ā€œI think America is sliding into authoritarianism but I am keeping my powder dry for a 2028 runā€ might be smart politics, but it also feels weak and selfish.

ā€œVirtually every day now we see government lawyers, acting on Ms. Bondi’s behalf, gaslighting and stonewalling federal judges from coast to coast. … ā€œBrad Bondi isn’t the right person to lead the DC Bar at this time. Not now. Not at this extroardinarily perilous moment for our legal system.ā€

Wow

Again, if the idea is that when someone in custody leaves the nation’s airspace there’s no way for a court to compel the state to return them—or exert any jurisdiction at all—then you’re simply saying whoever’s in power can fly people 100 miles offshore and push them out of helicopters into the sea.

House Democrats will hold a Save Social Security Day of Action tomorrow throughout America.

To my Senators @ewarren.bsky.social and @edmarkey.bsky.social : If you are too old to do TODAY what Corey Booker did, you are too old to be in the Senate. STEP UP NOW.

Your regular reminder that almost everything Trump is getting away with is not because of presidential strength, but because of congressional weakness and judicial deference. The constitutional tools are already there to fix this, but those who can fix it are refusing to do so.

Donald Trump is deporting legal US residents to a foreign gulag, and he has stated publicly that he is moving on to citizens next. This is a Constitutional crisis. Will a single Republican stand up for our Constitution?

Wouldn't it be nice if every news outlet that covered the Bukele Oval Office meeting noted: District court wrote: Abrego Garcia "has never been charged with or convicted of any crime."ā¤µļø Fourth Circuit: The government presented "NO EVIDENCE" of MS-13 affiliation. Abandoned argument before court. ā¤µļø

www.theatlantic.com/newsletters/...

He’s threatening media companies who are critical of him. He’s talking about sending Americans to foreign prisons. He’s signing executive orders to investigate former staff members who spoke out against him. He’s defying the Supreme Court. Don’t you see what’s happening here?

This is a lie. Here's how Mr. Abrego gets back. 1. Bukele releases him from CECOT. 2. The US gives him humanitarian parole as part of the court order requiring them to facilitate his return. 3. His family buys him a plane ticket. 4. He flies home. THIS ISN'T HARD.

This. Write your name in the history books on the right side of the ledger.

What the FUCK. El Salvador is a tiny, pygmy state that we could crush between two cups of coffee. BRING THAT DUDE BACK NOW!!!
