The worst of all surprises. Math!

This is why I always procrastinate until my problems become everyone's problems

Ha! As a proud user of MyFitnessPal, this would never work on me!

Do it now. Seriously, act now. Because at this rate, you're going the way of the Democrats and every other government who hasn't acted to solve rampant cost of living issues globally.

Makes you wonder how, in the country where people that say 'the tree of liberty needs to be watered with the blood of tyrants' hasn't seen this happen before and more often. It's not as if they have a bajillion guns to facilitate it and a lack of mental health supports to prevent it

I can agree with that. Good discussion!

It's why I know she's the one. Every box is ticked so hard it's breaking through the table underneath

Is he actually going to be charged? Or allowed to run for office like in the US? That's the important part about this. Not that there is a state actor. No, it's that there will be consequences for what is essentially treason.

building multiple new buildings for STEM courses while cramming humanities with 3 other departments. Constant news articles about how STEM is the future and humanities are a waste of resources. It's been a constant hit against my profession for the last 20 years It's hard not to notice.

I'm seeing it happen at schools in Australia. Schools that cut humanities from upper school entirely to focus on maths and science (mandating mathematics even though legally, all you need is english),

Remove that and you have an economic nomad with no reason to be loyal to state and society. The perfect little worker for those who consider nations as obstacles.

Keep in mind I'm referring to humanities in school and not university. What we teach in humanities is where students fit into their society, legal system, economic system, and history.

Those are pretty terrible too. I'm here to watch people cook and have a good time. Not to learn, for the hundredth time, that cooks in the military are called Culinary Specialists who learn to cut potatoes to a standard size and use BTUs and cook everything the same.

Which is why universities are breeding grounds for tolerance and civil rights. Because when we're all together in one place and forced to interact, we find out that all these different coloured, shaped, and clothed people... aren't so different from you and I.

I wish I had a bakery. Of all the different loaves in existence.

Which is why these people keep pushing STEM as if it's the holy grail in schools. Saying the humanities are worthless. To them, they are, why? Because the humanities teach us about society and how to find our place in it. Worthless, to those who have no loyalty to anyone but themselves and money.

Not to come across as contrarian here, but the 'witches' that tended to be killed were both men and women. Men and women who were old and lived alone and lived on valuable property (it had a hut with a roof). In other words, it wasn't religion killing people. It was greed. Tale as old as time.

I've told the kids the reports aren't finalised until the last day of term. It's keeping them occupied as I bury them in work.

What if the amount of work I'm putting in to be happy is making me miserable?

If only we were all as driven and aspirational as Sir Cat

Jesus hated demons and loved the poor. Sounds like we need some Meta-Christ representation in here to remind us of this.

We also had the Age of Enlightenment come right after though. Also to note, all the ones running America were exiled from Europe for being too crazy. Maybe there's a lesson there.
