Made a utility to automatically turn any hole in any geometry into a "light hole", which makes it appear as though it is connected to a different space on the other side by communicating light/darkness coming through. #GodotEngine #gamedev #indiedev

I used Godot's SurfaceTool to merge a bunch of pre-simulated lines into a single baked effect, using shaders to control time, fade, etc. 🎆 This is a nice cheap alternative to particle trails, which are not supported on Compatibility renderer. #GodotEngine #gamedev #indiedev
