I heard you can’t actually walk here, you just teleport by pointing your finger in the direction you’d like to go

Think it was in the era when you and @bonzrat.bsky.social and @rossignol.bsky.social were all still there, but maybe post-Quinns

It was short—under 2 hrs to complete, and consisted of maybe four different levels. There was a story told subtly through the environments, and I seem to remember at least one level taking place in the dark, with the player casting light around themselves.

My vague memory seems to be that it was something like Hidden Worlds, Lost Worlds, Unseen Worlds, etc. I’ve tried searching for all of these, but have not figured it out yet, and these are such common video-game-ish words that I might be missing it in the plethora of results.

There was a mode in the original World of Goo if you ran it on Linux where you could play with two mice… kinda proves the rule I guess

Who knows? But I figure every intelligence service in the world is looking at a dossier of rosy-cheeked 20 year olds with unrestricted access to the federal backend and going 😏😏😏😏😏😏 over the table at each other

Here’s my called shot: these freshmen will be targeted by foreign assets within a month.

And that concentrations of power are good. Like, we just need the ONE GOOD BOY to have more power and our society will be much improved!

Stinging eyes, etc. Pretty sure whatever compound makes horseradish spicy is totally different and much more volatile, which explains why you really FEEL horseradish/wasabi right up in your sinuses

Damn. I think(?) capsaicin has to get pretty hot to become airborne when cooking. The only time I’ve had something like that happen is when I was camping and let the pan get way too damn hot on a backpacking stove before throwing in some jalapeños—everyone around started coughing

I haven’t dabbled much in survival games; I think some of them touch at this style of challenge. But I want something that’s aimed not at reflecting the survivalist fantasy, but at reflecting an more recreational fantasy—mountaineering, rafting, etc.

One of the things that I thought about when playing Firewatch was that it really didn’t do much in the way of adapting backpacking/outdoor skills. Don’t get me wrong, I loved it, but in a lot of ways it’s a pretty traditional adventure game set in a stylized open world.

Okay stumbled on this in too stupid a way to explain, but I absolutely agree. There is a huge space for sim-style games themed around mountaineering, whitewater, etc. that is barely explored, as far as I can tell.

Great stuff, but I’m here to tell you you should go full vermouth freak. There’s a whole world of incredible Spanish vermouth waiting for you, for instance. I wanna hear you’ve got at least three bottles open at any given time

Good to find you on here. Only good vibes for you—fuck the haters, and fuck the shit. We make it through together, even when together is sometimes strangers on the internet—and I’m sending my small bit of that togetherness your way.

Wow, there must be some way I can justify this financially. Surely. A Riven LEGO set has gotta be, like, at least as important as paying the bills

IIGS was my family’s first computer, too! Incredible touchstone. This ages me a bit incorrectly, though, as it was really a little bit before me; my older brother and sister played more on that beaut than I did Definitely formative memories of watching them play games I could barely grasp, tho.
