Probably the one EFC player I most wish I’d seen. Bally is my hero but fully understand why others adored even more The Golden Vision @terrysmithblue.bsky.social

In the last few weeks, we’ve been honouring “greats”. Both Ball & Young certainly deserve that accolade, but Young had a transcendent quality, lifting you above the normal football experience. #GoodisonGod

The Saturday Morning Spelling Club was closed.

Not sure tbh.

Agree.

Never thought of that.

Thanks for that. 👍

With respect, there was a genuine question asked based on having a friend who doesn’t have a Membership (eg: an Evertonian who has emigrated) use a digital ST. It’s not a case of the ST holder going or not.

The ‘Everton Overton’ phenomenon. ‘Happy Clappers’, “accepting mediocrity”, and “fans dragging them over the line” being the main weapons of choice.

Haha. Beats “lurking”!

It’s a blocked post for me, John.

Absolutely, Terry. Home made scarf. my mum knitted it - she was a Red (God rest her)...A memory for the ages!

I was also on The Kop, Frank. I was 9 and wore my blue and white scarf - you could in those days. Marvellous memories.

None were taken prior to one of our biggest Derby victories but can’t vouch for the crowd, Kev!

Don’t you remember Pythagoras? Those internal angles have to add up to 180. The more the ‘hypotenuse’ is pulled out, the bigger the angle adjacent to the Right Angle at the bottom. Therefore, the steeper the stand.

That’s right, Jamie.

The good old ‘Hypotenuse’ logic would suggest that the angle at the foot has to be steeper. The real beauty of this design is that not only is it closer to the pitch but accommodates exactly the same fans as The Kop but in a much bigger space.
comment in response to post
That’s steep enough for me tbh.

That’s what Dan Meis said - they were designed to the maximum within the regs.

It’s relative to where we are now and compared to other competitors.

Those days have well gone, Becky.

Add that to the many myths we tell ourselves, Becky.

Young but not Branthwaite whose error actually led to a goal (as has been the case for some time now)?

Haha. Brilliant. Mike Moyes. Davey Gow.

Wilson was impeccable (save for the ‘66 WC Final). He’s unique in that he won medals with Everton and England. If you’re judging on defensive ability, there’s no comparison.

That’s different.

As long as you just think it. 😱

I’ll blame the cold and the opposition for the passivity at Goodison last night, but only rousing, entertaining performances and results will start to change things.

Pragmatism rules for now. Not happy if Moyes comes back but needs must…. again.

Nonsense.

You’re one of the most positive Blues I know Trev, and I always respect your opinions, but I have my doubts about the negativity being properly lifted. It’s too entrenched, it’s an odd cultural mix of passivity and aggression. I hope you’re right though.
