The only thing Russ doesn't have is the accolades. Which, when it's this close, are a tiebreaker. But they shouldn't be a disqualifying factor either.

My guess is they treat Reynolds as the other side of that platoon. Which may explain why they were comfortable getting a guy with the splits that Horwitz has. The need for corner OF is much larger, especially with Endy being healthy and able to play 1B as well.

the thing is, it's not "Soto got too much because he isn't a strong fielder or baserunner"
it's more along the lines of "if he hit like this while playing Gold Glove CF and stealing 40 bases, the contract would have been much, *much* higher."

I missed the show, but I did want to ask, would you trade Keller straight up for Brandon Nimmo? Not saying that he's available, but with the Mets pitching needs and their ability to just sign another bat I wouldn't be shocked if they made him available.

For the ASG? Sure, could be fun. I can't get behind any of the potential variations for regular or post-season play.
It is important to talk about a ton of potential changes to the game, even crazy ones. But there is a limit to how much should be changed.
