I’ve been in or around public service for almost 50 years now. I’ve never seen anywhere close to the level of incompetence that this administration displayed with "Signalgate." Full episode: youtu.be/Eqlwr9b5HqM

“Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, who is facing scrutiny over his handling of details of a military strike, brought his wife, a former Fox News producer, to two meetings with foreign military counterparts where sensitive information was discussed”

Walk and Talk - Secy of Commerce and Billionaire Lutnik says his Mom wouldn’t be upset if she missed a monthly Social Security payment; now there’s a surprise; today’s winner of the “let them eat cake” award; economic violence in so many quarters. youtu.be/QDXK4-EkfsA?...

Got an idea for a new drinking game we can call “Pete”: You take a shot every time you get a Signal notification

Secretary Pete explains the incompetence & danger ⚠️ of this orange man’s administration! #FAFO in progress!

What you have to understand about Pete Hegseth copying and pasting war plans into Signal is that it almost certainly means he’s got classified documents on his personal UNSECURE devices. Signal isn't on a secure device...are our war plans on his personal devices? @jeffreygoldberg.bsky.social

I mean very obviously Hegseth should resign, and if it were a Democratic administration this would be quickly be a consensus position.

If a law firm won't risk everything to defend itself, what makes you think it will risk anything to defend you? My advice: Find a law firm that will not back down and will never bend a knee.

What I told @velshi.bsky.social about the virus 🦠 eating away at America’s foundations and why a singular “constitutional crisis” is the wrong thing to look for. www.msnbc.com/ali-velshi/w...

Walk and Talk - In the Bannon far right autocratic revolution, Trump mimics Turkey Pres. Erdogan’s view (2020) that “civilization is one of conquest;” this a pivot from democratic globalism to monarchical nationalism; here’s today’s sampler. youtu.be/g1-TiJn__sE?...

🚨🚨🚨🚨 Not a SINGLE Democratic senator should vote for the Republican spending bill. Doing so would simply further embolden and empower Trump in his effort to destroy our government and the vital services it provides. STAND YOUR GROUND AND FIGHT — LIKE HOUSE DEMOCRATS DID!! 🚨🚨🚨🚨

I'm old enough to remember when polio ripped through the globe and put my friends into iron lungs. We dutifully lined up at school to get vaccinated. We eradicated the disease. We protected the common good and saved lives. RFK Jr leading HHS is a disgrace.

The House just voted that “each day for the remainder of the 119th Congress shall not constitute a calendar day for purposes of section 202 of the National Emergencies Act.” A day is not a day. Lewis Carroll, George Orwell, and Franz Kafka must all be chuckling — or weeping.

Trump backed GOP into a big corner with his “balanced budget” point. The ONLY way House GOP could even think about upholding their “no cuts to Medicaid” swing seat promises and their spending cut mandates is deficit spending and bad math. Now they have to gut Medicaid & hand it to Elon in public.

They’re disassembling the government so that very very rich people can keep their tax cut.

This says it all.

If they truly believed they were saving America they'd be celebrating in the streets, not canceling town halls and hiding from their constituents.

Here’s a description of the rejected ad. Does anyone have the actual copy? It should be disseminated widely.

Elon musk is the richest man in the world, he could be funding hospitals, medical research and universities. He could be solving the climate crisis. He could be feeding, hungry children. Instead, he’s trying to make sure that your grandmother doesn’t get an extra dollar of Social Security.

“He who saves his Country does not violate any Law,” Mr. Trump wrote, first on Truth Social, and then on the website X. The quote is a variation of one sometimes attributed to Napoleon Bonaparte. It’s creepy to the core and wholly anti-constitutional: www.nytimes.com/2025/02/15/u...

Dictator for a day has gone full Napoleon.

Our nation's federal employees are more than just numbers on a spreadsheet. They make sure we have clean water. They protect us from financial fraud. They provide healthcare to our communities. They make our government actually work for people. Do not forget this.

Spot on.

Completely. Fucking. Nuts. And it’s going to backfire, big time.

NOAA is reportedly on the DOGE chopping block. The National Weather Service, which is part of NOAA, provides life saving weather forecasting in the US. A study found that for every $1 invested in NWS, it produces $73 in value to Americans. Again, this isn't about efficiency.

A line prosecutor did this. Whats wrong with the GOP that they can’t? www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

A decent human sees thousands will die from the cutoff of aid and asks, "What can I do to fix this?" Donald Trump asks, "How can we hide the evidence, and who can we fire?" The difference between empathy and apathy is glaring. Priorities matter. #CompassionOverCorruption #HumanityFirstTrump

trump has plenty of course words about a Catholic Bishop who asks him nicely to "have mercy," but Putin hits a Chernobyl nuclear power plant with a drone, and he says *checks notes* NOT A FUCKING THING. What a weak, punk ass bitch.

An amazing resignation letter to Bove from an AUSA who worked on the Adams case. Money quote: “I expect you will eventually find someone who is enough of a fool, or enough of a coward, to file your motion. But it was never going to be me.”

You might have missed it, but Amazon warehouse workers in Raleigh, NC are voting this week on whether to form a union. If they win, they'll be the first unionized Amazon facility in the South. Remember that we can always find hope in the labor movement.

Cancer research paused

DOJ lawyers should go on a mass nationwide strike.

the “lawless decision” here is “the president does not have the power of the purse and cannot unilaterally cut or dismantle agencies established by congress”

On those new Trump tariffs: I don't think people realize how narrow they are. They're ugly and stupid, but also arguably an attempt to save face after he lost his nerve on broad tariffs

This seems really significant. The Judge will want to know how the error occurred and who fed the lawyers inaccurate information. Government lawyers are trained to make sure their representations to the court on material matters are truthful and accurate. Judge Kelley is unlikely to be pleased.

Yale Law wants its degree back. And Vance needs to go back to school to learn about separation of powers…
