I miss being able to look at places online like this and be majority-happy. Maybe that points to an innocence on my part that I've grown out of, but either way it makes me sad.

uh, yea, i’ll take a look at riker’s “personal log”

Huh! Bluesky just works in WebPositive!

Rick James accidentally using the tubular bells DX7 patch and immediately being like “absolutely not”

People born in 1995 are turning 50 this year. Let that sink in

does anyone else think that it’s crazy that we live in an era where we can watch a sunset on ANOTHER planet?

I went to the Science Museum yesterday and as well as having a ball with my nearly four year old in their amazing child spaces (god love free London museums) I was utterly charmed by this caption.

Woo-hoo, new browser time! I've upgraded* from SeaMonkey 2.53.20 to BrassMonkey 33.5.1 ! Because BrassMonkey is UXP, it uses the significantly more up-to-date Goanna engine (vs. SeaMonkey's half-decade old Gecko ), which means I can now post on BlueSky without using Firefox!

To me the cool thing about this image is that the sprinkling of blue stars are in the foreground, some 5 million light years away, while all those gorgeous colorful swirly galaxies are almost unimaginably more distant, out in the far depths of the cosmos. More info: www.stsci.edu/contents/med...

An absolutely stunning maiden launch of New Glenn! They certainly put the blue in Blue Origin

Don't you dare turn your eyes away from history, even the awful, scary parts. If you don't watch it with your own eyes, you rely on others to tell you what you saw. We must all bear witness to what's coming.

Thinking about the unused rat swimming animation from Deus Ex again

The 1984 Japan-only Punch Ball Mario Bros. for home computers features a bizarre story in which Mario and Luigi are presented as primitive humans with "no knowledge of sophisticated culture" who have not developed any tools except for balls.

The Buran-Energia stack in flight. From the cover of the Russian-language edition of Scientific American (V Mire Nauki) for April 1989.

/ooc the whole thread I know I don't have a lot of outreach here which is expected as a niche gimmick account. That being said, I have a research based class for my current academic term and I'd like to use as many neutral resources as I can (those who don't know me irl) to help answer the question

Big shot

Hello. I've done a technical write up about a silly project; please enjoy "Can you complete the Oregon Trail if you wait at a river for 14272 years: A study" moral.net.au/writing/2025...

"Uneasy. " This started out as a windows 9x style isometric icon but about halfway through something happened and it's not that anymore. Really enjoyed working on the sky.
