Oh this! The Democrats embracing genocide and not fighting it took away so many of the people who usually help on policy stuff. Like people are all up in arms about who everyone voted for but what really hurt them is the lack of organizers

Dear Dems. This is a reminder that Donald Trump rescinded the ethics rules preventing gifts to executive branch employees. Now would be a good time to propose legislation formalizing the prevention into a law Time to do things that make him react to you. apnews.com/article/trum...

Are we going to run a coup these people or what?

Fantastic news. More countries should do the same.

From a FOIA perspective, "the entire federal workforce should write down and email what they did last week" is extremely funny

explaining the year 2025 to the first guy i see after arriving in 1985: ...yeah and in the future if you wanna smoke weed you can just push the button on this apparatus 1985 guy: wait back up what was that about the coup? me: *coughing my lungs out for a solid 90sec after hitting a blinker* what?

Musk took over the US government with graft and is using it—in combination with his space launch firm—to exploit an allied country that’s suffering under Russian invasion for its mineral rights. The scheme is so imperiously evil I feel like audiences wouldn’t find it believable in a Bond villain.

On Wednesday I was the first to report Leland Dudek was on the verge of losing his job at the Social Security Administration when he was suddenly promoted to acting commissioner by Elon Musk. Thursday I published a story with more details. I’ll let you guess if I got any credit in this Post story:

AI models are embedded into a political reality. Just like deepseek refuses to address Tiananmen square, Grok now tries to obfuscate climate change. Developers know many now depend on LLMs for information, of course they would be tweaked for political gains. This is only going to get worse

i will become a total shill for whichever politician decides to become the joe mccarthy of rooting out silicon valley ideology and influence

I get the intent here from Talerico and that this comes from the discourse's focus on single family homes, but as someone who prefers density and condos over the SFH and suburbia, I feel like there's a glaring oversight here.

New: Tesla and SpaceX relied on work by undocumented immigrants while Elon Musk advocated for a border crackdown

My son is afraid a hummingbird might rip through his body at 9000mph. Can any professionals on here tell him he is stupid and full of shit

And for the third straight day, the rest of the legacy media did nothing to stand up for the First Amendment. No boycott, no walkout, nothing but business as usual. Then, they wonder why people are canceling subscriptions and turning off their TV's while independent news outlets are thriving.

Danielle R. Sassoon, Manhattan’s acting U.S. attorney, resigned on Thursday rather than obey a Justice Department order that she drop a corruption case against New York City’s mayor, Eric Adams, that she had championed, according to three people with knowledge of the matter.

genuinely jarring to read one of these emails that has actual useful information instead of a fundraising pitch

the democratic party has a problem in that it does not really want grasroots energy, because the ideological base of the party (liberals) is the smallest ideological faction in american politics and about a quarter of elite media is entirely about analyzing and magnifying their excesses

really astounding abdication from the guys who should be firmly anti polio

there’s an alternate universe where AI products were introduced in a measured way, workers thoughtfully figured out how to integrate them into extant workflows, and reasonable leaders didn’t use them as rationale for laying people off (and legally couldn’t) unfortunately that’s not the one we’re in

As I’ve been saying: trumpism broke the core (partial! Insufficient!) consensus around disability. But I have to tell you there are political opportunities here if we move fast enough and clearly enough.

well it has certainly been an amusing prank to let the worst people alive take over the american government for a few weeks, but I think it's probably gone on long enough

Everyone who pays alot of attention to politics right now is losing their mind because it’s really difficult to understand how the majority of people are just like “yep living my life, oh a program to hire more women? Idk sounds good to me, I voted Trump to lower inflation hopefully he’s doing that”

A reality is that a ton of nonprofit organizations & other facilities are laying-off a ton of people, and sometimes outright shuttering, because they still haven't received federal funding they were contractually promises. Many websites are still not up. And a lot more. All despite court orders.

Actuall image of Kendrick during his Super Bowl performance

How much Elon Musk makes from the government a day: $8 million. How much a senior on Social Security gets a day: $65 Guess which budget Musk and Trump want to cut?

Pretty damn good framing for Dems

There sure are a lot of bills being filed this session in the Texas State Legislature targeting public information. That's interesting.

"[For the Right], D.E.I...is the mere presence of a woman or nonwhite person or disabled or transgender person in any high-skilled, high-status position. And their alternative isn’t some heretofore unknown standard of merit; it is the reintroduction of something like segregation." (gift link)

DOGE at the local government level already exists it's called ransomware

Honestly it’s kind of nice that all the associations I have with hard drugs have moved from musicians and brilliant writers to greasy little rich pervert guys because it’s made them seem a lot less alluring.

free him

🧵 THREAD: In the second Trump administration, we’re devoting a significant part of our staff to detailing dramatic changes in the role of the federal government in the lives of Americans. Here are some of the issues we’re watching — and how you can inform our work.

the reason I am not particularly worried about billionaires surviving the apocalypse in secret bunkers is that pretty recently we had an actual doomsday scenario and all of those guys went insane within like two weeks

i cannot stress enough that at the very least everyone in leadership needs to go. all of them. probably most electeds over 70 too. primary them all. while we're at it can we just drop the entirety of the ny dem party on a deserted island

This new EO signed today appears to create DOGE as a shadow government across the entire federal government. Each agency/dept will be assigned a DOGE minder who will work with the Secry or Director and essentially be in charge of all new hiring and/or firing. People have been saying the Elon is ...

i am going to put a finer point on this: executive orders are not laws. and they certainly are not royal decrees. they are interpretations of existing law for the purposes of enforcement. the fact that so many people are treating them as laws is actually driving me a bit insane.

I’ve very quickly gone from having no Yetis, to having all the Yetis.

is the goal merit or is the goal segregation?
