"I don't take it lightly when I say the federal judiciary is the most dangerous white-collar workplace in America," LAP’s @alizashatzman.bsky.social told @npr.org @carriejohnson.bsky.social for this piece. The judiciary doesn’t take harassment/bullying seriously. Fortunately, LAP is on the case.

So impressed that @alizashatzman.bsky.social took this issue head on when she created @thelap.bsky.social www.legalaccountabilityproject.org

Carrie, this article is characteristically excellent and shines a light on a serious and pervasive problem with the judiciary.

Outstanding and disturbing reporting by @carriejohnson.bsky.social here.

Judges are servants, not kings. Article III independence is a wonderful thing, but this is one of its dark sides, and we should be honest about it and standing up for those subjected to bullies and abusers.

I’ve seen some bristle at efforts to unearth these stories, and at the people doing the unearthing, but that is wrong. None of this should be tolerated.

No one should be above the law - certainly not the life-tenured federal judges who interpret the law.

It’s time to re-up the question, for members of Congress *across* the ideological spectrum who don’t like the idea of life-tenured federal judges abusing their positions of power: *WHY* are federal judges above all the anti discrimination laws they interpret?

This is a deeply distressing story. Some extraordinary reporting here by @carriejohnson.bsky.social.

"I don't take it lightly when I say the federal judiciary is the most dangerous white-collar workplace in America," I told @npr.org @carriejohnson.bsky.social for this reporting on harassment in the federal #judiciary. @thelap.bsky.social has implemented solutions, despite judiciary intransigence.

"The federal judiciary is outrageously exempt from Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964," said Aliza Shatzman, who launched The Legal Accountability Project to offer clerks a way to share feedback about their experiences on the job. @alizashatzman.bsky.social

Was a federal clerk. Can confirm. Bad decisions reached because of personal bias towards one clerk and against another, as well.

🔥 The federal judiciary is the most dangerous ⚠️ white-collar workplace in America right now, due to the toxic combination of pervasive harassment, lack of outside, impartial oversight, + dearth of effective mechanisms to report misconduct, I argue in @abovethelaw.com. 👇

The Federal Judiciary: The Most Dangerous White-Collar Workplace In America https://abovethelaw.com/2025/02/the-federal-judiciary-the-most-dangerous-white-collar-workplace-in-america/

🚨The entire federal judiciary - and its 30,000+ employees - are EXEMPT from anti discrimination laws that protect most other workers. 🗣️Judges are literally above the laws they interpreted. 🎙️I discussed the lack of #accountability in the judiciary w/ @npr.org @carriejohnson.bsky.social .

✨Looking forward to speaking with Vanderbilt Law students abt the nationwide clerkship transparency movement @thelap.bsky.social sparked 🔥, the resource LAP built, ⚡️and how students can access candid clerkship info - way beyond what their law school provides - right now! 💥 #LawSchoolRoadShow

Hard at work with my @thelap.bsky.social pawalegal 🐾

🗣️ My negative clerkship experience is not rare. ✨But it’s one that’s rarely shared publicly, due to the culture of silence 🤐 + fear surrounding the judiciary. 🧑‍⚖️ ⚖️ Enjoyed kicking 👟 off Season 6 of @thelap.bsky.social Law School Roadshow at @georgetownlaw.bsky.social w/ ACS + Prof Heinzerling!

Georgetown Law students: Join LAP’s Founder @alizashatzman.bsky.social , Professor Lisa Heinzerling, + ACS this Thursday for A Conversation on Clerking and Judicial Accountability!

🎉Wow! Yesterday was one of @thelap.bsky.social’s biggest Clerkship Database registration days! 📈 🤔 Were we in the news🗞️ for something? 🤷‍♀️ ✨Whether law schools like it or not, LAP’s Database exists as a resource for EVERY law student for just $40. 🗣️ I think students understand the assignment!

Well, it’d shutdown Amy Chua’s pipeline.

Yale Law REALLY does NOT want students to see what’s in our Clerkships Database! 😬 Why might that be? 🤔 @alizashatzman.bsky.social explains in @abovethelaw.com . 👇

Yale really really really doesn’t want students to see any negative information about the judges it funnels clerks to, which is rather disturbing when you think about it.
