Six-winged god of llamas. Green. Conjunx Endura of @jobot935.bsky.social . Many Bothans died and many rich idiots showed their asses to bring you these... bleats? Which are all his own. Ofc. He/him.

Well he’s old enough now - it’s an important lesson that needs to be learned at some point. (I leave it an exercise for the reader whether I’m talking about the Scraplet or Stuart.)

Scraplet loved the film. Apart from the bits where Bumblebee was getting hurt. Which did result in him cheering excitedly when Blitzwing blows up the US Army. Which lead to some discussions about concepts I’m not entirely sure he’s quite at yet…

Game of Thrones, whatever we might think of the story, was high quality prestige TV that still managed to put out a season every year. I think they got the balance right there. Everyone else is just making long movies that they serialise. Eventually.

Aye. I mean I know that they're making feature-film quality TV, but it's still TV, and should be on a TV release schedule, not a movie schedule. Don't just down tools and let everyone wander off for a year between seasons before you decide whether or not you're continuing...

I fear I missed a trick with my feedback. I look forward to having a moment to listen to this.

Ah, that's why people are talking about Moylan again this morning.

A whole natural enemies-to-lovers thing going on in the Octopod...
I'll not be able to watch Octonauts with the Scraplet again. Especially when they pull up one of the old videos that Barnacles made for "educational purposes"...

I think that the dolls in this one not being the focus, and also being different, helps with it not feeling too similar. And it is a good little episode. One I always forget, but one that I always enjoy when I hit it in a rewatch.

Well we’ve just watched the Jon Snow-starring Pompeii, and, as far as events surrounding volcanoes go, I think S1E6 is going to do quite well.

I always assumed that the Aragorn-esque nature of his presentation was purely a bit of misdirection (albeit a logical one, given where we find the character). But a fair point there could be more to it than that…

Nah, he’s limey enough to not suffer from that. He is, of course, quite a sour one…

Yes, but you see, that’s magic fire, right, and that doesn’t work the same, because Balrogs are magic. I can buy that. But I draw the line at black people. (I am of course mocking, amongst too many other things, the stupid responses to the casting of the live action Little Mermaid.)

Anyway, a good, second episode here. Much as I love the LotR films, one weakness is presenting Gimli as basically a one-note comic relief character. The Hobbit films go a way to redress this, but this series really gives the dwarves some depth (ha ha). And they do a very good job.

Hello, tall, silhouetted and revealed with a lens flare - I like you already. Let’s hope you’re not someone else to thirst over.

Forever grateful that this series isn’t produced by a (male) team with the same sensibilities as, say, Game of Thrones, otherwise Galadriel in a wet, white dress would have… been presented differently. It’s depressing that her less lecherous treatment here feels surprising…

The threat to Middle Earth grows. Anyway, this is just unrealistic. A dwarf with dark skin wouldn’t be able to survive underground because there’s so little light and they wouldn’t be able to produce enough- *is dragged away through the spikiest grass there is*

Ah, here we go, the typical, disheveled rogue. We’ll come to love him, and it’ll turn out he has a heart of gold, right..?

Now the Khazad Dum sequence in Fellowship is one of my favourites in the whole film, I love how majestic and mysterious it is. But to see the place actually teeming with life, in its prime, is great. I love what they’ve done here.

Yeah, to be fair, I saw a *lot* of bitching about that character and their accent, which did leave me to think that people might not have been paying attention to what they actually were. It was a cool idea, and one that I actually liked.

Yeah, they were certainly a surprisingly positive outlier. I would've expected genre reviewers to be even harder on it, but there we go, I guess...

We keep making gains, slowly but surely. Too slowly though for the current pace of life. But without rich donors and a sympathetic media I don't think that'll change any time soon...

It's okay - luckily we have a slightly progressive government in the SNP, and- *is reminded who the Deputy First Minister is* ... ... 'sake.
Really need to get off my arse and back out campaigning with the Greens...
