Some of us have been saying this since 2020 and even before: Dems should make corruption *the* central issue in US politics and public life and go on the offensive against GOP/MAGA/Trump transparent and hypocritical corruption and grifting. Most voters hate corruption.

MAGA 2017: "Trump-Russia is a hoax and a slur." MAGA 2025: "Trump-Russia is the basis for our foreign policy and anybody who doesn't agree should be primaried out of the party."

So it goes without saying, but let's say it anyway: the concentration of attacks on trans people isn't because trans people are the only people fascists hate (although they absolutely do hate them). It's because they're the people they think non-fascists are least likely to defend.

In light of the news about Columbia, I want to reiterate a point below by me and Levitsky: universities, collectively, are among the most economically powerful and geographically thick sectors in the US. If they stood up together in opposition to this tyranny, they would be incredibly powerful.

Hell yes, @brianbeutler.bsky.social. All of this!

This is what weak, flailing leadership looks like. His inability to make meaningful change in areas like this explains the desperate, authoritarian bluster of his largely illegal Executive Orders. This is the sort of leader who opposing politicians should definitely NOT cater to.

Tell me more about Donald Trump's "populist" movement.

Amazing (but not surprising) to listen to all of these so-called titans of industry who have fallen over themselves to praise and support Trump try to rationalize, explain away, or even applaud Trump's chaotic and senseless battering of the American economy.

There can be little doubt that between the legal fees, lost productivity, & economic uncertainty created by DOGE (not to mention the DOGS salaries & DOGE’s destructive meddling itself) that Twitter Guy, Big Balls, & the other John DOGEs, have actually increased government spending since Jan. 20.

Aside from the obvious direct harm, what's so irritating is that a handful of spoiled ignorant assholes are breaking things that we all built together. They weren't content to own almost everything, they had to wreck what little they didn't own. It's vandalism on a mass scale and has to be punished

I’m spending the evening watching Season 10 of RuPaul’s Drag Race — not Trump’s address to Congress. Because why give this traitor and his band of fools any more attention than is absolutely necessary during my very own (and only) wild and precious life?

Is this for real?

"Do we just give these Trump voters a blank cheque simply because they acknowledge they made a mistake?" YES! One of the best things that successful politicians and movements do is to let ordinary citizens who regret their vote off the hook for their past bad decisions. It's how you win.

Generations of American patriots, from our revolution onward, have fought for the principles Zelenskyy is risking his life to defend. But today, Donald Trump and JD Vance attacked Zelenskyy and pressured him to surrender the freedom of his people to the KGB war criminal who invaded Ukraine.

More class in his pinky than Trump has shown his entire life.

Clown.

Zelenskyy flew to Washington and got a meeting with the Kremlin. A day of national shame.

Russia's response to Trump's tantrum says it all really:

“There may be times when we are powerless to prevent injustice, but there must never be a time when we fail to protest.” ― Elie Wiesel

A message from Zelensky through his actions. Honor and dignity. Some things can only be surrendered. They can't be taken away.

It’s nice how they’ve replicated the middle school dynamic of the insecure bully and his sniveling sidekick picking on someone surrounded by a circle of scared little boys who also try to talk shit so the bully doesn’t come after them. Or as the right calls it, “masculinity.”

Are we going to talk about JD’s daddy issues? Cuz honey, they were on full display today. Embarrassing little sop.

Vance is the softest clown in the world.

This was a disgusting display by the soft, uninformed VP Vance trying to school Zelensky, the man who has led his country through the most surprisingly resilient and effective fight for sovereignty against a global superpower. Every negative stereotype about America is confirmed in this exchange.

Even with the obvious imbalance of power, Zelensky makes Vance look like a preening little teacher’s pet.

As you watch Trump berate and put his hand on Zelenskyy just ask yourself one simple question: could you ever imagine him speaking to Putin like this?

Part of the lesson here is that Trumpists, like many bullies, don’t handle it well if you stand up to them rather than caving. If Trump or Vance or their supporters had any character this petulant display and Zelenskyy’s defiance would be humiliating to them.

I think we have to agree that JD is such a sniveling little bitch.

Fuck Donald Trump and JD Vance.

huh, is this bad?
