That's essentially what happened with Palmer's and the Riverside towers but people complained so they paved everything over in laser proof concrete.

Too many microbreweries. I want a dive bar where regulars are shithoused inside at 3pm, but a lovely patio outside. âēī¸

Great opportunity for dense housing above some bike-trail facing businesses where they have roll up windows where you can grab a coffee or beer and treat along the river. Residents can hold the business down for non-peak season. Not nearly enough cafes along our miles of paths.

This stretch desperately needs help. Two lanes no parking and throw in a few speed bumps. Too much shit going on here between the freeway onramps and ped/bike popularity for cars to be doing more than 15-20 here. City should be gunning for it too from how much infrastructure cars destroy here.

Blaisdell needs to be closed to cars until drivers get their shit together this stretch is ridiculous.

I don't understand the motivation. They'll make close passes and almost collide head on with others, and then slow down to like 22mph when they see a park police ahead (so, they know what they're doing). I'll pass them at the next stop sign then they'll roar past once again. đ¤ˇââī¸

Like most drivers, they probably like speeding through *your* neighborhood, but want the sign for their own street where *their* kids play. đ

That's the direction I *should* be leaning đ Lighter ratios are the way to go for most city riding imo. Any starts/stops are miserable on a 48x14 so if I'm riding that I'll typically tailor the route specifically for "go fast" routes like the parkways, airport, etc. otherwise I'm on my 48x17!

I just went the opposite! Tired of doing 120+ rpm on my 48x17 when wanting to go fast, I've been experimenting with 48x14 (92 gear inches) where my happiest cadence (~95rpm) yields 26mph. Wonderful with no headwinds or large "hills" (anything >Marshall hill) but falling below 15mph sucks (55rpm).

You're looking at what is typically ranked #1 most bike friendly in the USA đ but yes I had a lovely time cycling in Amsterdam

Silver lining: Good thing they're not doing this stretch in winter, when the parallel Shepard Rd path fails to get plowed.

Absolute loathsome idea but if it came from the henn cty sheriff that drives on it every day in the name of safety it might actually catch on đ

Those useless highway ramps certainly don't help. Closing the HERC but leaving that is ridiculous.

N Cedar Lake Trail also has those aggressive "must yield to traffic" stop signs on low traffic W 31st St between an elementary school and a park. Like, you can't raise the crosswalk and tell drivers to be cautious there?

nah y'all take up too much space. you me and two others could fit next to each other in a lane but instead it's you and half your empty mobile living room. your empty passenger seat and armored structure does not get travel priority ahead of me.

I'm waiting for that Hennepin county vehicle that lurks the Greenway to do so. That single SUV causes more damage to the pavement than all the bikes combined!

Idk you still have to cross the street often and it's not pleasant dealing with either impatient and aggressive or oblivious drivers where every single intersection becomes a point of conflict.

Lots of paths like this in the twin cities as you know but they usually lead to high speed slip lanes at any crossing and intersect several driveways. âšī¸ We're nearly there if we ban right on red and have a mixture of low radius turn, and raised crossings to prevent encroachment.

Burning would go through air pollution control mechanisms, and most landfills are lined which allow you to collect the leachate and treat it at a wastewater treatment facility. There exist stormwater BMPs but those likely have far less removal efficiency. I think a coating/shield would be necessary.

You'd think living in a place where this happens 10+ times a year we'd invest in a resilient transit system (rail).

Love to take twelve minutes to go two blocks (Cleveland to Finn) so twenty SFHs can park right in front of their house instead of using their driveways in the alley. The bike lane always sucks here too but sure, it's the cyclists that are entitled.

If the bicycle had not been invented I'd probably turn into one of those jog commuters and still make better time. Anyway, kid on the bus was asking why the bus was so slow but I held back so they can enjoy their precious pre-radicalized car-hater period of life.

Ride was pleasant cuz I don't mind chillin' and looking at stuff, but gaddamn sitting behind and waiting for slews of single occupancy vehicles blows. I understand things aren't normally this bad but even still, at best it's twice the time as biking a simple east to west route. (3/3)

Snake Plissken returns in "Escape from Downtown St. Paul". He fails to save Cathedral Hill because it took 54 minutes to get outside of downtown proper on the bus while the bad guys simply walked up the hill. (2/3)
