It looks like Tesla needs DOGE's services to find fraud and waste Tesla (TSLA) accounting raises red flags as report shows $1.4 billion missing electrek.co/2025/03/19/t...

The US invasion of Iraq began on this day 22 years ago. In the years since, the United States spent roughly $10 trillion on the so-called "war on terror." Can you imagine if we had instead invested those funds in climate, health care, housing, and education?

Silicon Valley guys casting government employees as lazy, parasitic, and malevolent seems like a giant case of projection imo

the last decade has really helped me understand in a more visceral sense what it meant when God hardened the pharoah’s heart

A lot of powerful people are going to wonder how it's so easy to put together a site like this. These same people fought for decades to stop any sort of data privacy laws. Any idiot with PostgreSQL experience and a few grand could purchase the data and do this. www.404media.co/dogequest-si...

The fact that the corporate legacy media is even having this event shows how little they understand the moment we are in and how little they intend to fight back. Support fearlessly independent media.

"'We Need a Strong Republican Party,' Democrats Always Say. How About a Strong Democratic One?" After 9 years of Trump, writes @premthakker.bsky.social for Zeteo, Chuck Schumer wants you to think there are some Republicans just waiting for the right time to be noble.

They want the unreviewable power to grab people and render them to a foreign gulag.

A reply to JD Vance from a far right influencer. They absolutely want to do this if they can get away with it.

It is genuinely your moral duty, if you’re in the sciences, to violate the terms of your contact and take as much of the research home with you as you can. Today, tomorrow, every day your lab’s still open.

So: Russia flatly rejected one Trump envoy (Kellogg), made the next one (Witkoff) wait for eight hours, rejected the ceasefire, and instructed Trump that his job is to give Russia what it wants. That’s what Trump means by "respect" I guess.

*mournfully, while my six-figure car burns on the side of the road* everything's computer

When I wrote my camps book, people sometimes had difficulty understanding how concentration-camp regimes were proud of what they were doing and wanted attention for it, even as they also hoped to keep many aspects secret and terrorize vulnerable classes. Anyway, this is what that looks like.

Trump repeats the blatant lie today that Russia has a Ukrainian army surrounded in Kursk, but claims he is going to save them when he talks to Putin tomorrow. Trump will be the hero of Putin’s made-up story.

OK, gonna throw this spicy bomb out there. If you're fortunate enough to have disposable income, then right now it is your duty to use that income wisely. You have agency over how you spend it and you should own how you spend it. Your decisions do, in fact, affect stock prices of big corporations.

Sorry everyone, turns out it's too hard to go to Mars. Instead we're bringing Mars to you. It's gonna be desolate and shitty here now

Politics hasn't been this simple in a long time: do you think it's good for one man to exercise unchecked, arbitrary power or not. Those are the two available ideologies right now

Today, we have more income and wealth inequality than ever before. But the greed of the oligarchs never stops.  Now, in order to get huge tax breaks, they want to cut back on Social Security, Medicaid and veterans programs. Together we can stop them. We must stop them.

The wages of the richest 1% have skyrocketed 182% since 1979.  Meanwhile, the wages of the bottom 90% have seen just 44% growth.  Trickle down economics was always a hoax.

I am begging blue state governors to have lunch this week with your adjutant general of the National Guard. Cannot stress enough how important this relationship is going to be in the near future.

they look at russia — a stagnant backwater — with envy

These are the same Senate Democrats who lectured the base for years about the importance of preserving the filibuster so it would still be available when Democrats were in the minority

The FBI is trying to criminalize Habitat for Humanity for receiving climate grants from the EPA. Yes, the nonprofit that builds houses for low-income people. This clearly demonstrates just how absurd and extreme the Trump regime has become. It's targeted harassment.

🚨BREAKING: Federal Court GRANTS motion to HALT deportation under rarely invoked Alien Enemies Act of 1798. “A TRO is appropriate for the class members to prevent the removal of the class.” WOW. Planes in air must turn around. A huge win @democracyforward.org and @aclu.org.

The divide isn’t left v. liberal or moderate v. progressive. It’s this is normal—not good, sure, but ultimately fine—and therefore requires a standard 20th century-style response v. this is highly abnormal, very dangerous, and getting worse, so it needs a nonstandard response that meets the moment.

If you live in NC, call every Republican politician you know. Call every farmer you know and ask them to do the same When money walks , voters talk. Make sure they know this effects everyone in their town and state www.wunc.org/news/2025-03...

Yesterday, Trump targeted me at a speech be the Department of Justice. If he thinks it will cause me to back down he is wrong. My law firm is currently litigating 46 pro-democracy cases in 21 states, with more to come. We are not done fighting and we are not done winning.

Trump can call me names but the truth remains. He is an unhinged wanna be dictator who is angry that I beat him in court and won't cower in fear. Now he is weaponizing the federal government against his political opponents. I will not back down. I will not bow or scrape. I will never obey.

This isn’t a left vs others thing. It’s about fighting vs rolling over. The middle is just as outraged as the edges

News you can use! This is getting interesting.

(chuckling wisely) You fool... I am getting my ass kicked *strategically*

Anyway I just sent a fax to my senator. faxzero.com/fax_senate.php

Among the material devastation to everyday people, Senate Dems have now blown a hole in their ability to work with the House. We had an agreed upon plan, House took immense risk, then Senate turned around midway and destroyed it w/ a fear-based, inexplicable abdication. They own what happens next.

I offer you these reasons for very modest hope not because I want you to deny the awfulness of what’s occurring, but because I want you to see we are not necessarily doomed. Here’s this week’s summary of 10 reasons for very modest optimism. robertreich.substack.com/p/even-more-...

When AOC and Adam Kinzinger are both furious at Chuck Schumer, for the exact same reason, maybe you need to give up the idea this is just a backlash coming from far left activists.

That's a great idea! Send all of your cancelled fees to an organization or candidate that will fight for you!

The sheer evil and depravity of US immigration officials is beyond belief. Everyone involved should be named and shamed for this.
