I fear people are hyping themselves up too much for the possibility of K Rool being in the game, that when it comes out they'll be unable to enjoy it for what it is. There's some interesting evidence and theories for him, but I'm going in expecting he won't be there.

I always regret referencing other games in videos when I start editing and now have to get footage for it.

I self taught typing with caps lock, just felt more natural to me, I never really liked holding shift. If a game lets me, I turn on toggle for sprinting and crouching when they're on shift or control, it's really uncomfortable holding them with my pinkie.

Here's a bunch of scattered thoughts I wrote down after playing the game that I will eventually stitch together into a script. It's all about the story and Banjoland in particular.

While I wouldn't want the next Banjo game to be Nuts and Bolts 2, I think a spiritual sequel would be great, there's a lot of room to build and improve. And again with Timber as the protagonist!

I'll eventually make a video about Nuts and Bolts, and the working title I have for it is "The Insecure Brilliance of N&B". Because the gameplay is quite good, but it's so insecure about itself in the writing.

And the self deprecating was too much for the time, and even now still doesn't land very well. I still think the game shouldn't have been a Banjo game, they should have given it to Timber, he's been snubbed too much he deserves his own game.

I recently played it for the first time, and I thought it was really good gameplay wise. I still don't care for the story, or even just the premise, Banjo has broken the fourth wall plenty before, but I think it went way too far here. I don't like LOG as a character or a concept.

Ngl, that's what peaked my interest in the game, and I hope there's more than just that. Been trying to find games with gay male protagonists, there's shockingly few of them, it's rather depressing.

I really appreciate that you hid the spoiler in the article, unfortunately as soon as I clicked on Youtube a GameXplain video spoilt it in the title and Thumbnail. Be careful browsing Youtube guys.

I'd certainly appreciate any discussion about it spoiler tagged for a long time after it launches. Considering those prices I doubt I'll be able to play the game for awhile.

But any other game that expands on the genre or god forbid have any amount of backtracking is complained about. Tooie is a masterpiece that always baffles me when people call it tedious or bad.

It honestly seems like the people who specifically hold up Kazooie (and also Mario 64) don't actually like collectathons, but they happen to like those 2 games because they're the simplest versions of a collectathon. Kazooie is great, but it's pretty simple.

They are also correct

Yeah I recently played it for the first time, giving it an honest chance and putting my previous disdain for the intro aside, I was able to really enjoy the game. But, while I'm no longer angry about the intro, I still don't like the story or even the premise for it. Game is pretty cool otherwise.

My bigger videos have been taking like 5-6 months, constantly feel bad that they take so long.

I love Banjo and would be happy with another one, but not everything has to keep going on. There are so many other great indie platformers that we don't need to wait for Banjo. Plus we have Yooka-Laylee which carries the same spirit, so as much as I love Banjo, I'm satisfied with what we have.

DK64 did not kill the genre, no one game did, what killed it was oversaturation and shooters and open world games becoming more popular. Collectathons were very prominent in the 6th gen, they kept going well past DK64 and had quite a few really well regarded ones like Jak and Daxter.

Speaking as a Youtuber, I am begging Youtubers to play indie games, please. Maybe there's a point to be had that in the AAA space outside of Nintendo they are lacking, but who cares when there are so many amazing indie 3D platformers recently and upcoming. Play The Big Catch Tacklebox, now.

I also loved doing this in Kazooie, DK64, and even games like Sly 2 and 3, among others. Really grown to appreciate these worlds by just exploring them for the sake of it, not to collect things. Sad that growing up I don't have the patience to play games that way anymore.

I don't quite remember my first experience, but as a kid I'd often play games like this as a hang out spot, not really playing the game but walking around the worlds messing around. Jolly Rodger's Lagoon was always a pretty cozy place to hang out, I loved just flapping and gliding around as Kazooie.

I've played most of them, mainly missing Vampire Killer, Haunted Castle (both versions though I'll get to them soon), both PS2 games, Harmony of Despair, the mobile games, the fighting game, and Lords of Shadows 1 and 2, though I did play Mirror of Fate.

Going to be moving away from Paper Mario soon, which is going to be scary as those are my best performing videos, and my other stuff hasn't gotten much attention. I hope my next big project will catch on.

Sticker Star and the videos after it are some of my best work. Color Splash in particular was rather unique in how I approached it. I somehow managed to make a queer reading of it's story, which was a new topic for my channel. I do plan on talking a bit more about queer stuff in the future.

The earlier videos are a bit rough, and there's some mistakes and things I've changed my perspective one, but I'm still proud of them. Though Sticker Star remains my most ambitious video and I'm incredibly happy with how it turned out and how many people watched it.
