I’m having those same thoughts. I can see my kid having a lockdown moment if confronted by police and fear they won’t recognize the autistic traits that cause it. So scary. I hope it leads to institutional change but I’ve lost hope in law enforcement being open to change on any front.

There should be a companion piece from AASHTO on “Why should we subsidize highways?” but that would require them daylighting the degree to which State DOTs are subsidy hogs.

The Idaho GOP is selective as to when they seem to care about racism. An Ada County GOP leader calls a Legislator a “Plantation Mistress” and they don’t say a peep.
