Great band, great artwork.

Will you reenact it during a lunchbreak?

Sitting pretty by Rolly Crump.

It's a hazy memory, so probably wrong, but I recall Robert Elms on TV 100 hellish moments (or whatever it was called) quoting a BBC producer who said "I'm here to start a revolution!" Like I say, hazy.

C | E | N | T | R | L … just brilliant. That A is probably worth a fortune now.

Bond’s pad is a really “quite magnificent” (uttered in soft Roger Moore tones)

I’m trying to work out which kitchen is better. This one or Bond’s Live and Let Die kitchen. It’s a close call!

Kind of! It was everyone’s favourite -Time Flight. Probably the most distintive element of the story. 😂 pinkforyouractualpterodactyl.com/2022/07/23/t...

It features in Doctor Who too, albeit in a different colour.

A rather nice Luis Perez De La Oliva lamp to boot!

In a couple of hours (or pints) i expect to see a post claiming ownership of the Butts ferry. (Or whatever it’s called)

Love a bit of Guzzini. S*** tons of his work here too, in case you spot them in other shows. watchingblakes7.wordpress.com/2023/11/21/i...

Fascinating post. Thank you for sharing. Was Alan Clarke’s Elephant (1988) part of the Screen Two brand? Or was it standalone?

It also had an impact on BBC2, where the revamped Whistle Test (which was doing quite well) was left dead in the water from this point onwards. Albert Square claimed its first scalp! This was an example of a spot of scheduling shuffling around this time.

I hope it helped you to while away any of the hours spent in the queue!!! 👍

Congratulations on keeping it to a single page. Excellent control! 👍

Not sure. Think it was yesterday?

Excellent excellent post. Thank you for sharing. I particularly like this “This is the thing that pilots and deleted scenes do best: prove false your preconceived notions as to how something was made.”

Getting strong The Face of Evil episode 4 vibes here.

The Invasion of Time, Ribos, Pirate, Stones.

It’s got its moments! (He says charitably) 😂

I know, I know. I’ve tried to like it, but trying is the worst thing to do in this case! I can’t deny it’s fun tho. But also stoopid.

It's still placed 52nd on my list, but that is because I'm a dullard. Maybe I'll have a listen and see if I change my mind.

Oh goodness, that Equinox title sequence really was terrifying! Right from the very first frame!

Hi Andy, thank you! As for the horror of the 70Mb file, it does seem to be working for me (in incognito mode too) but I will try on a couple of machines at work tomorrow - definitely worth me checking this. 👍

Ahhhh, next to the Elizabethan Gardens! Not been in, but looks lovely!

Oh! I should pop down and say hello! (Alas I’m making dinner, not cocktails) 😂

He did. It’s was a bold rebrand in comparison, although some might argue that it wasn’t massively bold from a 1980s stylistic pov.

Ah right. So a bit longer than I thought. Love that it went the other way.

Oh yes!!! 👍

Over on the other place, I researched how they made that Universal logo, so it’s etched into my brain. Both cracking logos!!! I’m guessing this one wasn’t used for long, before Lambie Nairn took STV on?

Last year I wrote an account of the final years of Whistle Test (which ended at the same as The Tube) and there was a change of mood between music industry and UK terrestrial broadcasters around this time, so it wouldn't have surprised me if The Tube's days were numbers before the groovy f******s!!!

Fabulous ident - shades of Universal from the 1930s!

Right, the gloves are off! (Stahlman’s presumably) All I can find is the various fire extinguishers 🧯

🔧 but here is Slocum’s wrench.

And, like Whistle Test, struggled with its own name and identity as the 1980s moved rapidly.

Looks like the 'less is more' approach, and Michael Hayes added some fantastical touches with the fish-eye lens etc... Thank you again David.

You read my mind! "Dark hole" seems to be the gist of it!
comment in response to post
Thank you! I must say I did hope for a David Brunt style camera script to help me there! Interesting that it still doesn't give too much away. Was there anything elsewhere that suggests the pit where he ends up?
comment in response to post
Possibly! I can't rule it out. He's on Zeos both when he falls, and when he's reunited with Astra. Yet, it looks like the so called 'Planet of Evil' where he ends up. So perhaps it's an illusion to keep Astra seen as innocent???
comment in response to post
I definitely didn't have to look up the word oubliette there. Yes to the K9 lure - I always like the unexplained!

(I meant Zeos, not Atrios)
