Had a ghastly experience in the desolate north earlier today. Appeared to be some kind of awful ritual.

... One imagines that the prolonged period of high oil prices would encourage decarbonisation policies, even as it encouraged exploitation of otherwise uneconomic reserves.

I'd suggest bad argument. Recovery from the stone age requires a lot of concrete. Regional insecurity directs money to carbon hungry military spending and away from mitigation or adaptation. And that stone age bombing would doubtless lead to major methane and CO2 releases...

Adieu, and be wary of selectivity over which civilians do and don't warrant protection from occupiers.

I count myself among them, after all it's where most of the boozers are. But it's nice to pop up for air from time to time.

I sense a certain logical fallacy emerging from this whataboutery, didn't really expect you to suggest that Putin has no responsibility for Russia's conduct in Ukraine?

War crimes and crimes against humanity. But I'm more interested in your point about Irpin etc, what is the difference in your view? Russian urban warfare tactics are well known, eg Grozny.
Was Bakhmut levelled to permanently displace the civilian population, or was it "just" collateral damage?

Ah, sorry archive.is/Kmd68. Debate is good but it doesn't seem to have any bearing on Israeli military conduct in Gaza?
Perhaps also notable that there are international arrest warrants out for both Putin and Bibi, because of the war crimes they have sanctioned.

Well, I was referring to Russian and Israeli urban warfare tactics and protection of civilians principles. 🙂

... take today, the municipal pitch for the away match was a hill. Canny local opponents obviously chose the uphill half to begin, exhausting our team in the first 30.
Watched it unfold in dismay, imagining us shifting to a Yorkshire moorland pitch for high altitude training.
