Every country is warming. Every country is experiencing more extreme weather events because of climate change, mainly caused by burning fossil fuels. www.ShowYourStripes.info Time to #ShowYourStripes and start climate conversations to prompt actions to reduce emissions, personally & collectively.

Ugh. This is not patio weeding weather. *melts*

WHERE IS MY THUNDERSTORM?

Winter is coming.

How much highly enriched uranium is at Fordow in #Iran? And what happens to it if you drop a whole load of bunker busting bombs on it? Feels like an important question for the surrounding population, and for those who would bomb it.

Quietly exploring my Adam Curtis conspiracy theory that revolves around his ludicrous footage not being from the archives but filmed to order.

The valley has raised plateaus on its sides, climbing onto them always feels like you've left the (relative) hustle of the valley bottom behind.

Couples wearing matching crocs. Y/N?

Fetes. Bloody love 'em.

If you move somewhere nice, don't explore all the local footpaths too quickly, spread it out over a couple of decades at least, then you'll always have new discoveries in the bank.

Thinking back to all that help #Israel received to fend off the last ballistic missile attack from #Iran, will its allies be so forthcoming this time, now that Netanyahu has squandered their support with his genocidal #Gaza campaign?

"the ocean is under immense stress from overfishing, plastic pollution, rising temperatures, acidification and biodiversity loss." Frets Richard Branson, airline owner. observer.co.uk/news/oceans/...

The towering achievement of water privatisation in the UK is ensuring that everything to do with #ThamesWater is an absolute sewer www.theguardian.com/business/202...

Freedom of speech doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t sometimes just shut the fuck up.

Nuke's in the post.

You move in next door to a church, do you: a) rest easy knowing that you will always have a fair idea of the time? b) submit a noise complaint to the council, triggering an abatement order? Choose your own adventure and good luck with the local lynch mob pal.

I watch these #Drax trains go up and down the valley every day, presumably a conveyor belt of chewed up forests powered by public subsidy doing precious little to fight the climate crisis while depleting nature, all while the emissions appear on someone else's balance sheet.

Interesting to read a Hungarian perspective on how Orban has sold his Hungary to the US: "the Hungarian government spent millions of euros on intermediaries tasked with selling the US a specific image of Orbán and Hungary." www.theguardian.com/news/ng-inte...

U13 girls football is an unexpected crucible of drama. Never been much of a one for football, bar internationals. Suddenly exposed to those parents that you hear about who take matters very seriously. But also the drama...

Judi Dench-backed rebels seized a nature site 250 miles north of the capital today.

PARENTS. Rest assured, a day will come when you can leave them at home and drink some delicious IPAs.

Oddly envious of how much this eagle achieved in its life.

I really hope they said "beep beep" as they did so.

Pretty sure it's now safe for our actual prime minister to acknowledge that Israel is committing war crimes in Gaza.

There's a local cat that keeps peering in through our windows. Often unexpected, it can be quite unsettling. It's possible it might be a pervert's familiar.

Well @righttoroam.bsky.social folk, my compliments. There's some lovely writing and thinking in here. I particularly enjoyed the articulation of the Universal Truth of Ropeswings; things we instinctively know but rarely see written. Cracking work, as manifestos go.

Devastating to have to accept that I'll never have the opportunity to choose between train operators to travel on the Calder Valley line, while benefiting financially from the competition between them. Perhaps I'll have more luck with my water bill.
