Oh and I meant to say Switch 1 only had a few games at launch, but Super Bomberman R I recall did quite well.

Switch 2 being backwards compatible probably doesn't help, since some titles are also on Switch 1. I know the only physical game I bought was Rune Factory, since it actually was a full game on cart. Not many of those...

I guess it depends on the vibe of the game and the age we're going for. 2000s games that emerge in my head would be like Sonic Adventure, Lost Kingdoms, Majora's Mask. Pondering early indie games like Cave Story, hmm.

Is it the same cost as the Switch 1 game and the upgrade pack? That was my assumption. I certainly won't be buying the Switch 2 Edition release for Kirby - but I'll for sure buy the upgrade because I want more Forgotten Land.

Dang :( I'm sorry for your loss, man. Sending my condolences.

But seriously hope things get better for you soon. Water stuff sucks when it goes awry.

Yeah, I heard that was a problem RE: encounter rate. But I like a good weird non-standard Mega Man game, so it will always entice me!

Is this your first time playing it? How does it compare with other RPGs out there? Not that I need ANOTHER RPG in my backlog lol

Secret Level would make it connect with Shadow Labyrinth somehow. Namco would be down with that.

Do you track any sales of Evercade or other smaller-scale consoles for enthusiasts? I assume we would never see one of their releases on these charts for obvious scale reasons.

8. The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe by @crowscrowscrows.com. I had seen large portions of the original, but to explore the expanded game was good. I am sure I missed a few things (no real way to track paths), but what I did see (bucket, E3, museum, button) was fun, "in a cosmic sorta way, yes."

7. Pepper Grinder by @ahr-ech.bsky.social and @devolverdigital.com. Drill baby drill - but for treasure and platforming and combat and swimming and mech stuff, not oil y'all! A fun romp that plays around with the concept enough through the campaign, hard but satisfying bosses, and STYLE.

6. Spectacular Sparky by @freakzonegames.bsky.social. I love me a good run-and-gun that gives you enough breathing room to get through. Lots of explosions and a fun pixel art all around. The game leans a little chatty and the comedy is "More Violent Max without the Sam," but it keeps consistent.

5. Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion from Nintendo. I admit I did not play through all the stages, but the style and premise and overall design felt like the true sequel single player experience. Splat2's Hero Mode was good but ended with a meh; Octo Expansion does not let up! #NintendoSwitch

Ah. I think they had a digital version with the physical goodies after they did the physical game preorders. Even so, a retail version should be out at some point. It'd be silly not to!

It is getting a release via @rockitgamesnow.bsky.social. Preorders seem to have stopped, but I suspect leftovers and a retail release are on the horizon from them, too.

Hey if Electro Brain can get back and rerelease Star Soldier: Vanishing Earth and Bomberman 64: The Second Attack via Vatical, it would all be worth it.

Throwback Entertainment has been licensing soundtracks and some of the games are on Nintendo Switch Online, so yeah unless Throwback is this other company, they just have the name and logo.

If the team is well compensated and the project is sizable and future chapters more consistent or shorter in release timing, I'm okay with the delays we've had.

Man, whatever you need to do to get back on your feet, I'm sure we all understand. This is a tumultuous time for a lot of people. We can get back to gaming after things get back together.

On a similar note, that brings up a question: does VGHF have a plan on digitizing video and audio gaming content, particularly from the journalism front or otherwise?

Wait, what does that mean for performance? Can the game or NES hurt one another because of the volt mismatch?

4. Vision Soft Reset by @seafloorgames.com and @tophatstudios.bsky.social. Small under-the-radar indie I enjoyed a lot. Metroidvania with time travel around a short period of time. The lore has me curious on the wider world, and some places seemed harder to get to than expected. Solid indie game!

3. Divine Dynamo Flamefrit by @inticreates.bsky.social. Taking an April Fools game and making it a "full" game is definitely neat in my book. The game itself was very straightforward - maybe too much. Art style was fun, and I like Mecha battles. Main attack is slow and game ends quickly. Cheap, tho!
