Playing as one, it's frustrating that you can't declare wars without manually getting rid of your holdings. Playing against one, it becomes a huge pain if they become vassalized or join a federation.

Unfortunately, not my decision 😔 Maybe if they complain to the prof, he'll change his mind

To be fair, this is one of those few games where it's more ethical to pirate it anyway

Yeah, could be it. Streaming takes up a lot of bandwidth

No idea. Just my troubleshooting instincts kicking in. If it happens on two different networks (same device), it's the device. If it happens on two devices (same network), it's the network. If it's the network and you have fibre, it could be your router being funky?

Could just be your own connection? If every website's doing it. Best test is to just switch between wifi/data and see if it's better on one of em.

Ok but, could you explain what a filing cabinet is?

Unfortunately, after giving this a go last night, it looks like this still doesn't actually work. 💀 Ah well, time to make a bug report and move on... The way I handled the economy on this run was horrible, anyway. The Krithakkan will rise... Not today, but someday.

Maybe... If "rework" means scrapping it and abstracting it into bombardment, so I'll never need to build another army again.

Yo that's cool! Is it a threat to an industry that has never had to face automation like this before? Ohhh yeah. But I think people will always value individual artists as humans. And everyone is equally threatened. Creatives, white collar office workers, and janitors. We need to band together.

For real!! Then there's the other side, where if you don't think AI is inherently evil, artistic communities will vilify you. Which I understand from a plagiarism/job loss perspective. But personally, I like GPTs as a tool to review my work or bounce ideas. A rubber ducky that talks back.

Thank you! I'm not big brain enough/don't have enough resources to develop huge neural networks... But there's gotta be consideration for how we can responsibly use such models to empower users, rather than control them. We're looking at baby AI now, it's only going to get more capable from here.

I've never followed Hank Green outside of YouTube before and I am delighted to discover this pure, chaotic energy on BlueSky

Research focused and teaching focused academics are forced through the same silo, even though the worst profs I've had are the ones forced to teach just because they have to, to keep their jobs as researchers. While teachers are forced to research just to teach. There's gotta be a better way.

My favourite math professor had a heavy speech impediment. To make up for that, he wrote everything he said on the board and followed a simple, systematic method. Define. Example. Give students 5 minutes for a practice problem, then step through the answer. The worst professors always just speak.

Then again, he's in tough competition with the girl who sat in the first row and kept looking at the test of the girl beside her. She sat right in front of the table where us TAs were chilling. If you're gonna cheat on a test like that, shouldn't you at least sit at the back??
